As for that recovering from serious error message, try updating your computer once in a while.

I dont have any problems with XP. I have a top of the line computer and things run pretty smoothly, but I really hated 95,98, and ME.

Lol, I was really dreding upgrading from me, of all o s es to xp, simply because it ran like shit on a friends comp, but I also got a top of the line comp [well kinda p amd 1.650ghz, 512gbsdram, 60gb hd, and well, you get the picture] but if your having problems, pornmaster reformat, and re instal xp. It also could be due to the fact that you download pics, unless you have a varified source, you never know what your getting.

lol at the recycle bin error message. i've been using 98 for several years now. immediately after i installed it, several control panel icons were missing, as were about 12 dlls. just manually made them "reappear" but i haven't tried to reinstall since:mellow

...i bought a new PC two weeks ago, it came with Win XP and the only problem I had with it was after trying to install a version of Nero that came with my previous CD burner. That crashed XP and I got the same error message as PornMaster a few times, but a visit to MSīs Updates solved that. Besides this small glitch, Iīm really loving XP.
Before that, I had a shitty Pentium II running at 350Mhz and with just 96Mb of RAM, AND with Win ME...youīd think thatīs a recipe for disaster, but actually, the only two problems I had with it were once due to an electric discharge and another time due to me messing up the registry in such a way that I couldnīt even boot up my PC...
Did Win ME crash on me? Hell yeah, but only when I thouroughly abused my small RAM, by having millions of programs running at the same time...so, ME never gave me trouble, except if I asked for it. To this day Iīm still unable to understand why everybody thinks Win ME is a piece of shit...

i would buy a new mac powerbook g4 in a heartbeat... an ultralite notebook, that doesn't sacrifice optical drives and power for weight... yes i have seen the notebooks that weigh 2 pounds and are less than an inch thin, but you hafta connect it to the 'hub' or whatever to get the cd-rom drive and such...

but i've had a lot of probs with xp... first, i formatted my drive for fat, tried to open an .msstyle (without) stylexp, and it turned everything black... app backgrounds, text, everything but icons... BAD.

reformatted to ntfs... problem with ntfs.dll caused my comp to restart after about 3 minutes uptime.

tried ntfs again, worked for about 2 weeks, then ntfs.dll error and several other errors with pci cards.

trying fat again, no real problems lately.

I wasn't aware that XP would allow you to install onto a FAT32 partition.

itd be a bit mean for ms not allow you to install on fat32 seein as everyone who used win95 98 and me would have to either format or convert which includes a risk of data loss.

NTFS is laggy

if you dont need the extra support that NTFS offers then you dont really need it

I use mainly FAT because its quicker

I have two NTFS partitions
1. video encodong - large file support
2. temporary internet files - 4k file compression
