ive been burning a shitload of mp3 using my normal method...decode to wav using razorlame, then burn using nero.
now i had this one album and none of the tracks could decode using razorlame, then when i tried to burn it directly using nero i got an error message "nero doesnt recognise this type of file"
why should this happen? this is an mp3 album, every track encoded using lame at 320kbs, definately NOT an mp3 pro, and ive never had this happen out of the 200+ burns ive done b4...what the fucks up here?
ill buy a beer to the bastard who can help me with this. word up.

read the first post--that's what he does already
"decode to wav using razorlame, burn with nero"
why not burn direct from mp3? mp3 to wav isn't that different from mp3 to cda, just adds time to the equation

yeh it does add a little time, but as you know im kinda geeky about mp3, and cos the nero decoding engine isnt the best i decode using lame.

I was always under the impression that programs that burn from MP3 directly to CDA still converted the MP3s to wav first(just automation). Can you convert directly from MP3 to CDA? I'm not an expert on the subject.

no, all burners decode to wav then burn to cda, its just that the process is automatic so you dont see it. most burners, like nero decode using a dll file, thats why i do my own decoding.

he already said he tried burning directly.
the only thing i can suggest is to try encoding the mp3s into something else, like wm8 perhaps. can't think why nero wouldn't burn them though.
EDIT - looks like every1 else just sorta said what i said while i was typing it.

i had the impression that cda, wav and pcm were almost all identical with minor "arrangement" differences
