Okay, here is another thread about MAME gaming and some of yousmay know I am a HUGE fan of this sort. I am installing a Windows 7 machine for MAME only ...[ the rest is edited out of another post I almost made in a topic that would have been off ]...

I am gonna make a MAME system out of this one anyways so its not too important. Its gonna sit in the corner and run Ms Pac-man (mostly) along with Fire Fox ( game ) a laser disc game I have wanted for 20 years and the laser disc data is just now finally available! The ROM data has been around long time since but now I have the laser data! Im kinda excited! It use to cost a dollar to play this game back in 1987! The laser disc data is 14Gig! for 1987 that is a MASSIVE GAME! Of course its uncompressed movie data but still...HUGE!!!! Those laser discs were the size of an LP record or larger!

I still have my X arcade double sticks and I want to make a simulated cabinet to make it look cool too. I will be running all the other ROMS that are out there too but Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac, Frogger, Tron, Galaga, Super Cobra and the like will be on display the most. I need a Sega Dreamcast adapter so I can get the dreamcast EMU more playable because my favorite game " JET SET RADIO" almost gets no play because of hard to control game elements with a stick.

Anyways...I want to hear from you other MAME heads here! I know there are some! Any of you geeks been trying out the laser disc games now that so many are coming to light? I did not know until about 6 months ago that this data was out there now and I have not played much with any of them except Cliff Hanger which was another one I liked back then. Lets hear it....

Bought myself a GP2X Wiz this summer to play emulators, one of which is Mame. As it turns out I've been more into the Snes and Neogeo emulator, but I do have about 200 Mame games.

THAT IS AN AWESOME DEVICE! I am glad you showed me that. I only wish I could have begged for one for x-mas! Thats super neat! Playing Nes, Snes and Genesis games would be great. How about straight MAME? Is it good for that too? So many gadgets, so little funds...

Before long, every phone will have this built in. :fest06::fest06::fest06::fest06:

Just looking into their site quickly and I see it will play avi movies! NICE! Very nice. Seems PRICEY at first until you see all the things this thing can do and the hefty 533mghz cpu 1G of internal memory, touch screen, etc etc.!

It was hit or miss with Mame, some games ran, some did not run, but the emulators are always being improved. Everything up to about GBA runs great, they have a Playstation emulator that runs at about 15fps but hasn't been optimized yet. The only real downside to the system is the buttons on the right are too close together and it takes getting used to, don't know who was the idiot that came up with that button design. Part of me is tempted to see how hard it would be to mod the system, but I've gotten used to it now.

If you want a slightly less powerful system, that is similar look up the Dingoo. Because it has less power what it can emulate is affected, just look up emulator sites to see if it does what you want.
