How do I get Grokster

I went to Grokster.com and it cannot be displayed. So is Grokster dead? Does anyone have any links to download it?

that's very odd...well, you could just go to www.download.com and search for grokster.

I think Grokster is dead. I downloaded it then I tried to set it up and it said "cannot contact server". Has anyone heard about Grokster?

well, it's not dead...but i just tried to install it, and there is A TON of spyware that you can't opt out of....i've heard about a clean grokster somewhere, don't know where it is though. i'll look for it.

Thank GOD Grokster is DEAD !!!! Their spyware SUCKED as HELL !
They were idiots they just copied Kazaa and made it to Grokster nothing changed ! Except the name bascially !
If you still want it get the Clean version much better and faster Thanks to Dr.DAMN for making This clean version !

i got the first link downloaded, but the second one you have to go to http://members.lycos.nl/kazaadownload/grokster.php and click on clean grokster....

grokster/clean grokster sucks IMHO. if you use k-lite or kazaa there's no point in getting grokster. it's the same as kazaa/k-lite. i'd get clean imesh because at least it's a little different from k-lite because it runs on its own network too, as well as fastTrack. and it doesn't look like k-lite either.

Check your 'Hosts' file. Link (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?postid=43444#post43444) If you have KaZaA Lite installed & choose to have the 'Supertrick' done, it places grokster's site to be blocked. Another way to get around it is to leave the "www." part out of it & try http://grokster.com/

Do a search on emule, overnet, ed2k, kazaa, or shareaza for it and I guarentee you will find it.

To get rid of the spyware:
1. use ad-aware to eliminate everything
2. get a copy of the neutered cd_clint.dll file and put it in winnt\system32 or windows\system (NT or 9x)
3. go to the grokster folder, delete everything but the dbb files, and grokster.exe
4. access your firewalls advanced options and stop grokster from using any tcp port from 1 - 1100 and any udp port from 1 - 1100
5. set your firewall to allow grokster to be a server (you want to share files)
6. make a file called hosts and put it in \windows or \winnt\system32\drivers\etc; and add the following line to it:
127.0.0.1 <press tab key now> grokster.com <and save it>
7. have fun downloading :)

If u read up on all of this u will understand its quite easy to beat the spyware companies, the hosts file is one of the easiest ways to stop things, and if u use a popup killer as well it does the job better.

to find the cd_clint.dll do a search on google for "cd_clint.dll" (btw this is the file u need to make grokster work, without it, it hangs with an error message)
