In Senate testimony, constitutional experts say the president has the right to appoint independent advisors as long as the distinction between practical and legal authority is rigorously maintained.
Reporting from Washington - Five constitutional experts testified at a Senate hearing Tuesday that President Obama's extensive use of policy "czars" is legal -- as long as the officials do not overstep their authority.
In a city where power is carefully hoarded and monitored, Obama has drawn complaints from Congress about his use of the so-called czars, officials he has appointed to coordinate environmental, health and other policy areas among various departments.
Lawmakers in both parties have sent letters to the White House saying the czar appointments skirt Congress' authority to confirm top executive branch officials and subject them to oversight hearings.
But the panel of constitutional experts testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on the Constitution did not support the complaints.
Called together by Sen. Russell D. Feingold (D-Wis.), who had written to Obama asking for more information about the czars, the panel concluded that Obama had the right to appoint independent advisors. The experts said the principle had been established by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Damn liberal panel, invoking the constitution of all things? Don't they know that Russia had Czars, and they got Czar from Ceasar, and Ceasar was Roman, and Romans like man-on-man buttsecks?
DO YOU HEAR ME PEOPLE? Obama is instituting the buttsecks!

Treasury Czars Got Million$ from Wall Street
Some one else has taken a closer look……..
Remember when Obama said at a speech in New York last month that reckless behavior and unchecked excess was at the heart of this financial crisis we’re in.
Too many on Wall Street were motivated only by the appetite for quick kills and bloated bonuses; a culture that he said prevailed before last year’s financial crisis.
Beneficiaries of Million$ in pay from Wall Street and Private Equity Companies that Obama claims were at the heart of this financial crisis we’re in, have been.appointed as “Czars” in his administration and have escaped Senate confirmation hearings.
Matthew Kabaker, adviser to Tax Cheat Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner earned himself a cool $5.8 Million just proir to joining Team Obama.
Lawrence Summers, chief economic adviser to the White House raked himself in $5.2 Million.
Another advisor, Lewis Alexander poor guy; well he only got himself $2.4 Million before jumping on the Obama Band Wagon. .
And bringing up the rear Gene Sperling, senior Treasury adviser was only compensated $2.2 Million for his 13 months work.
When disclosed, Obama Officials argued on Wednesday that it was important to have:
“Skilled people working for the Government.”
:usa2:
They’ve gotten their bonuses in advance and have escaped to their cushy jobs at the White House as they now try to regulate the pay of future employees of these firms...:hail: Obama

The point?
I'll try again to explain it.
Where is the "CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN"
GOP Lawmakers accuse "Safe Schools Czar" Kevin Jennings of being unfit for the position.
Pushing a pro-homosexual Agenda Jennings's past exhibits a record that makes clear that Mr. Jennings lacks the appropriate qualifications and ethical standards to serve in this capacity.
His own history of unrepentant drug and alcohol abuse indicates that he is of the opinion that getting drunk and high as a young person is acceptable.
Citing his handling of an incident involving underage sex, his record demonstrates a willingness to overlook the sexual abuse of children. Jennings cannot gain the approval of parents who want their children safe and their schools drug free.
You should replace him with someone who has a record of educating children in a safe and moral environment.
Jennings, who founded the Gay and Lesbian Independent School Teacher Network (GLISTeN), was appointed by Obama to head the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, a position Jennings assumed in July.
Great pick Obama, an Alcoholic, Homosexual Druggie for your "Safe Schools Czar" another who escaped the Senate Confirmation hearings.

Because no Republican would solicit male prostitutes, or institute the "foot tap" method in an airport bathroom, solicit methamphetamine, or abuse Oxycontin.
Again, the fucking point?
Repotlicans, meet Demokettles.

At least we know who is advising the President and who is influencing policy decisions. Can anyone say .. Cheney Energy Task Force (aka rich white oil and gas men deciding in secret how they will screw the American public and raise consumer prices).
Participants:
* Eli Bebout, "an old friend of Cheney's from Wyoming who serves in the state Senate and owns an oil and drilling company", visited in March 2001.
* Red Cavaney, "president of the American Petroleum Institute, also met with Lundquist"
* Jack N. Gerard, "then with the National Mining Association, had a meeting with Lundquist and other staffers" in February 2001.
* Wayne Gibbens and Alby Modiano, U.S. Oil and Gas Association.
* Alan Huffman, "Conoco manager until the 2002 merger with Phillips, confirmed meeting with the task force staff."
* Kenneth L. Lay, then head of Enron, "came by for the first of two meetings."
* Bob Malone, BP regional president, and Peter Davies, chief economist, and "company employees" Graham Barr and Deb Beaubien.
* Steven Miller, Shell Oil chairman, "and two others."
* Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, Royal Dutch/Shell Group's chairman.

* J. Robinson West, "chairman of the Washington-based consulting firm PFC Energy and an old friend of Cheney's" met with Cheney.

Kinda like those "secret meetings" Obama had on how to screw the public on Health Care ?
– In 2006, Obama critized Cheney’s secret energy meetings: “When big oil companies are invited into the White House for secret energy meetings, it’s no wonder they end up with billions in tax breaks.” [1/26/06]
– In 2007, Obama promised on his first day to: “launch the most sweeping ethics reform in history to make the White House the people’s house and send the Washington lobbyists back to K Street.” [6/22/07]
– In 2008, Obama told Wisconsin voters: “This change will not be easy. It will require reforming our politics by taking power away from the lobbyists who kill good ideas and good plans with secret meetings and campaign checks.” [9/22/08]
Blah Blah Blah -- More "CHANGE" you can believe in....:notworthy:
