There was what President Obama likes to call a teachable moment last week, when the International Olympic Committee rejected Chicago’s bid to be host of the 2016 Summer Games.

“Cheers erupted” at the headquarters of the conservative Weekly Standard, according to a blog post by a member of the magazine’s staff, with the headline “Obama loses! Obama loses!” Rush Limbaugh declared himself “gleeful.” “World Rejects Obama,” gloated the Drudge Report. And so on.

So what did we learn from this moment? For one thing, we learned that the modern conservative movement, which dominates the modern Republican Party, has the emotional maturity of a bratty 13-year-old.

But more important, the episode illustrated an essential truth about the state of American politics: at this point, the guiding principle of one of our nation’s two great political parties is spite pure and simple. If Republicans think something might be good for the president, they’re against it — whether or not it’s good for America.

I seem to remember, not too long ago, when president bashing was "unamerican."

Oh... I see, it's "your" president or "my" president.

Now it makes sense...

Thanks to the Republicans, Canada now has to deal with the same kind of ideologues in the right wing party up north. God damn it when can we kick the conservatives off their high snide horse.

Well who would have thought that this PAUL KRUGMAN a liberal columnist and author would have written anything else?

The author of books that challenges us to take on George Bush and the radical right.

In fact, this biased Op-Ed he has written is no better than what he portrays as wrong with American politics. More proof of the Hypocrisy on the Left. (of course not everyone is in love with Obama) for that matter neither are they in love with all Republicans or all Democrats.

Checking the archives of each of the mentioned sources, I find nothing resembling the accusations made that was actually published. Not that there were not derogatory statements made, but nothing as derogatory as comparing the entire Republican Party as having nothing but “ the emotional maturity of a bratty 13-year-old.”

But the main thing missing here is, no mention of the fact that none of his quoted sources are politicians, they are media. His Op-Ed should have been directed at this media, himself included, and not the Republican Party.

But as the Rush Man said:

When you stop to think about it, folks, doesn't it make sense?

Our president, "Barrack Hussein Obama! Mmm, mmm, mmm. Barrack Hussein Obama! Mmm, mmm, mmm."

He had been running around the world for nine months telling everybody how much our country sucks.

He's been running around the world apologizing for the United States of America.

Why would anybody award the Olympics to such a crappy place as the United States?

As sarcastic as that sounds, I have to agree.....:hump:

Glad you liked it. I kind of wretch to myself that I've sunk as low as to find the democrat version of WND and the other dumbfuck sources you fish in, but I figure I gotta give you some "consider the source" articles that have weight, rather than just the stench of retarded cynicism.
