The Top Ten Myths of American Health Care: A Citizen's Guide

Health care "reform" is in the air, but to its leading advocates, that means a government takeover of the medical system.

American health care is an inefficient hybrid of public and private, costing more than it should for the care provided.

The problem is too much, not too little, government intervention.

I give it a few more weeks until the government steps in. Either manage them through bankruptcy or manage let them live like zombie banks. The problem is now the government has their hands in the financial institutions, they don't want to get out.

Now for a bit of good news.............

Miami banker gives $60 Million to Employees

MIAMI -- Lots of bosses say they value their employees. Some even mean it.

And then there's Leonard Abess Jr.

After selling a majority stake in Miami-based City National Bancshares last November, all he did was take $60 million of the proceeds - $60 million out of his own pocket - and hand it to his tellers, bookkeepers, clerks, everyone on the payroll. All 399 workers on the staff received bonuses, and he even tracked down 72 former employees so they could share in the windfall.

In 43 years at City National, he climbed from Janitor to Vice President.

Like many longtime City National employees, he forged an unbreakable bond with the bank that continued into retirement. Perry returns regularly for the annual employees' dinner.

Abess didn't publicize what he had done. He didn't even show up at the bank to bask in his employees' gratitude on the day the bonus envelopes were distributed. He was inundated with letters soon afterward.

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2006/04/our-indefensible-tax-system

David Cay Johnston has showed in his book, Perfectly Legal: The Covert Campaign to Rig Our Tax System to Benefit the Super Rich—And Cheat Everybody Else, few people have really closely examined the intricate loopholes, devices, dodges, and shelters that allow corporations and superrich individuals to pay shockingly little in taxes. Sometimes even the IRS can't decipher the most complex tax-dodging schemes, and few journalists have the knowledge needed to cover the tax beat adequately.

As a result, most Americans remain unaware of the ways in which the wealthy cheat the system. And often, even when the public—and Congress—does become aware, nothing happens. Corporations and the superrich can continue to use tax dodges long after they're made illegal because tax law enforcement is so badly underfunded. Congress routinely cuts funding for tax auditors to save money, although as Johnston explains, the result is that the government often loses more revenue in uncollected taxes than it saves by firing IRS employees.

Am I the only one who understands the basis of the article? Sure they are just relabeling what used to be known as politically motivated propaganda, but it still rings true. Many organizations are using the media to spread their message whether it legit or not, some knowing its illegitimate. Just getting the message out will often cause the distrust of the defending party.

these sorts of arguments amount to little more than conspiracy theory. If you read the wiki article on this you should see that conspiracy theories are all but impossible to prove so to me this is pointless.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conspiracy_theory

DailyKos !

Well, here we go. Apparently we're going to need federal legislation to prohibit conservatives from even discussing monkeys, using the word "monkey" or any such thing because for the 2nd day in a row we have a conservative, this times the horrible John Gibson of FOX News, putting his foot into his mouth and down his throat with a comment suggesting that a notable African American is a monkey.

Don't believe me? Watch the following clip

Huffington Post !

FOX continues to prove it is part of the most racist network since the KKK
John Gibson should be fired.

These guys are unbelievable. Racism and Gibson's fixation for blue scrotums together would baffle when Freud himself.

This is not surprising John Gibson is a bigot and has never denied it.

I hope Keith Olbeman has a special comment about this isses!!!

Keep digging Faux, just keep on digging yourselves into a marginalize racist pit of despair.

This story has already spread through the Fox Hater Echo and it’s still propagating tonight on Liberal Blog Daily Kos with another passel of outraged comments from the gullible.h

Really!…..?

DailyKOS and the the Huffington Post has some "splaining" to do.

There's only one problem with all this: the video posted is a fake.

The three words allegedly spoken by Gibson, "bright blue scrotum", are actually in Trace Gallagher's voice.

Seen in the unedited video, Gibson played audio of Holder saying "nation of cowards" -- so his full, unedited remarks were:

"We were talking about Eric Holder today on the radio and his comment that this is a nation of cowards."

The video was doctored to include Trace Gallagher's voice saying, "bright blue scrotum" where Gibson played Holder's "nation of cowards" remark

The Huffington Post and the DailyKOS has some 'splaining to do. Why are they presenting a doctored video?

"The Huffington Post, in its zeal to slime me, went over the line and posted a phony, fabricated quote, attributed it to me, and which actually constitutes a lie, and a slander," Gibson told TVNewser. "The Huffington Post plays fast and loose on a regular basis, but this time it was caught in an out and out fabricated falsehood."

They have since retracted it but:

It still appears on the media page but is less prominent than before (further down and to the right, and without a graphic to draw attention to it).

Now we have: John Gibson Hoax Video Traced to MSM Reporter…………..

There is a strong reason to believe that the person who planted the video is shockingly, another reporter.

The video that spread all over the left side of the blogosphere was posted on You Tube under an account named “jon13210”. I saw the video this morning and wrote down the account name before it was removed.

I searched on Google for jon13210 and several accounts on video and photographic websites are all linked under one person named John Sanders.

John Sanders is or was a technology reporter for WBAL11 in Baltimore. There is a link about him on WBAL11's website.

Let me be clear, I am not 100% sure that Sanders is the hoaxer. However, other videos on You Tube posted under the same account name include videos of John Sanders on the air for WBAL11.

HEY, let's not forget the other $410 Billion...............:drunken_s

After Passing $787B Stimulus Bill, Congress Still Has $410B Spending Bill on Agenda

When lawmakers return Monday from a weeklong Presidents Day recess, they will have two weeks to pass a $410 Billion spending bill designed to keep most of the federal government operating for the rest of the fiscal year.

Lawmakers delayed voting on spending bills for the fiscal year that began Oct. 1 because then-President Bush indicated that he would veto most of them.

WHY you ask: Budget to include $300 Billion in taxes for 'Greenhouse Gases'

Barack Obama plans to include in his 2010 budget the introduction of a massive energy cap-and-trade system designed to raise $300 billion a year for the federal government in a bid to get industry to curtail emissions of so-called "greenhouse gases."

But Jennings said he doesn't anticipate Republicans making much noise about the spending package and even if they did it wouldn't matter because Democrats have enough power to get it passed without their support.

Arctic Sea Ice Underestimated for Weeks Due to Faulty Sensor

Ice Cap grows in 2008 and 2009

Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- A glitch in satellite sensors caused scientists to underestimate the extent of Arctic sea ice by 500,000 square kilometers (193,000 square miles), a California- size area, the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center said.

The error, due to a problem called “sensor drift,” began in early January and caused a slowly growing underestimation of sea ice extent until mid-February. That’s when “puzzled readers” alerted the NSIDC about data showing ice-covered areas as stretches of open ocean, the Boulder, Colorado-based group said on its Web site.

“Sensor drift, although infrequent, does occasionally occur and it is one of the things that we account for during quality- control measures prior to archiving the data,” the center said. “Although we believe that data prior to early January are reliable, we will conduct a full quality check.’’

The extent of Arctic sea ice is seen as a key measure of how rising temperatures are affecting the Earth. The cap retreated in 2007 to its lowest extent ever and last year posted its second- lowest annual minimum at the end of the yearly melt season. The recent error doesn’t change findings that Arctic ice is retreating, the NSIDC said.

The Middle East: Mired in a Culture of Hatred

A Palestinian presenter at Hamas Al-Aqsa Television asks a little girl on a program for kids, "What do you want to become when you grow up?" The girl replies, "I want to become a mujahida [fighter]. I want to liberate Palestine. I want to throw all the Jews out of beloved Palestine. But before I die and join the Palestinian martyrs in paradise, I want to kill as many Israelis as possible like Reem Riyashi."

This is the kind of culture Hamas TV is spreading around among young Palestinians and other Arabs in the region. Hamas has its own satellite TV channel, radio station and newspapers and has used them to garner political support during its power struggle with Fatah.

The Hamas media effort is bankrolled by its leader in exile, Khaled Mashaal, who sends suitcases of cash, filled with money from Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Syria, which are smuggled into Gaza through tunnels from Egypt.

A New Populism? More and more “Tea Parties” to come, while the liberal media continues to not report on them.

Seattle on Monday. Denver on Tuesday. Mesa AZ on Wednesday. Overland Park, Kansas today. What a week, huh?

This is just the begening.

We got the anti-stimulus, anti-entitlement protest ball rolling

— and now the movement, spurred further by CNBC host Rick Santelli’s call for a “Chicago Tea Party,” is really taking off.

Currently 93% of viewers in left-leaning CNBC's own poll would like to join the "Chicago Tea Party"

http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/checker.aspx?v=ydnz6USUpr

Some wore pig noses. Others waved Old Glory and "Don't Tread on Me" flags. Their handmade signs read: "Say No to Generational Theft"; "Obama'$ Porkulu$ Wear$ Lip$tick"; and "I don't want to pay for the SwindleUs! I'm only 10 years old!"

The anti-pork activists turned out in Denver, too. On Tuesday, while Obama cocooned himself at the city's Museum of Nature and Science for the stimulus signing, a crowd of nearly 300 gathered on the Capitol steps on their lunch hour to flame-broil the spending bill and feast on roasted pig.

On Wednesday in Mesa, local conservative talk station KFYI spearheaded a third large protest to welcome Obama as he unveiled a $100 billion to $200 billion program to bail out banks and beleaguered borrowers having trouble paying their mortgages.

Their posters jeered: "Give me Pelosi's Plane"; "Annual Passes to Disneyland"; "Fund Bikini Wax Now"; "Stimulate the Economy: Give Me a Tummy Tuck"; "Give me liberty or at least a big-screen TV."

And my personal favorite: "Free Beer for My Horses."…………………

Team Obama’s mortgage-rescue plan redistributes income from the mortgage holders who pay their bills on time to those who don’t,. It rewards bad behavior.

Plans are underway for anti-stimulus-palooza protests in New York -- home of smug Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer. Schumer's derisive comment on the Senate floor about the "chattering classes" who oppose reckless spending has not been forgotten or forgiven.

The insult spurred central Kentucky talk show host Leland Conway to organize a pork rind drive. Angry taxpayers bombarded the senator's office with 1,500 bags of cracklins.

Disgraced Democratic Sen. John Edwards was right about one thing: There are two Americas;

One America is full of moochers, big and small, corporate and individual, trampling over themselves with their hands out demanding endless bailouts.

The other America is full of disgusted, hardworking citizens getting sick of being played for chumps and punished for practicing personal responsibility.

Now is the time for all good taxpayers to turn the tables on free-lunching countrymen and their enablers in Washington Community organizing helped propel Barack Obama to the White House.

It can work for fiscal conservatism, too.

Actually the IRS goes after small businesses because they cant afford to fight it, and big business have tons of lawyers who can exasperate the IRS. I seen it done so many time before. Home business get certified letters from the IRS and have to fax proof of stuff all the time. IRS is just a dog shit company funding the banks so the gov can get loans from them and pay them back with interest.

How true it is................:icon_salu

I was audited by these goons once bout 10yrs ago. 10 years of records I had to come up with they requested. Law says seven but Hey. they're the Gov remember?

Wow, same thing happened to me three years ago, with nearly the same results. When I started my business, it was on a shoestring, so like most everything else at that time, I did my taxes myself.
By the time I was audited, my biz had grown beyond my micromanaging ability and I had handed off taxes and payroll to my very competent CPA.
Thanks to me being a worry wart and a dumbass to boot, I had overpaid taxes for 4 years.

The IRS ended up owing me 18k. :icon_salu

GOOD DEAL......I like to see that....Rep for you......:icon_thum

Obama Invites Hamas Terrorists to America

There has been much debate surrounding the issue of whether or not President Obama's Presidential Determination No. 2009-15 of January 27, 2009, effectively provided funding for members of Hamas to immigrate to the United States

The UN Relief & Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East

The United Nations Relief & Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East – or UNRWA – began its field operation in 1950, inheriting the assets of the United Nations Relief for Palestine Refugees (UNRPR).

This organization is mandated as a subsidiary organ of the United Nations tasked to coordinate relief efforts for the “Palestinian refugees.”

The inclusion of the UNRWA in this situational examination is warranted because the UNRWA would be the chief receiving organization for any monetary stipend emanating from $20.3 million allocated to the The State Department's Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration “PRM” under the authority of President Obama's Presidential Determination.

It should be noted that nowhere in the UNRWA's prerequisites for designation as a “Palestinian refugee” does it exact disqualification for members of Hamas, al Fatah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad or any other radical Islamist group.

The Corrupt UNRWA & The American Financial Pipeline

The criteria for Palestinian refugee eligibility may be fundamentally flawed in its failure to vet terrorist operatives but that would be the least disturbing reality when examining the UNRWA.

To put it succinctly, the UNRWA is not only corrupted, it is essentially pro-Hamas.

In a 2006 article in TCS Daily, Michael Krauss, professor of law at George Mason University and J. Peter Pham, director of the Nelson Institute for International and Public Affairs at James Madison University – both academic fellows of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies – exposed a stunning level of corruption at the UNRWA.

Among their findings:

▪ UNRWA's former commissioner-general, Peter Hansen, was egregiously pro-Hamas. In a statement to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in late 2004 he said, "I am sure there are Hamas members on the UNRWA payroll, and I don't see that as a crime."

▪ Hansen, in his official capacity as a UN program commissioner-general, perpetuated Hamas propaganda by falsely stating he had seen, “...with my own eyes [Israeli] helicopters strafing civilian residential areas...wholesale obliteration...and mass graves" during Israel's Defensive Shield operation of 2002. These allegations were subsequently debunked.

▪ The UNRWA has published educational texts for use in its UN operated schools that: defines Zionism as “"a racist ideology and political movement”; omits the nation of Israel from content and maps in history books; and provides curriculum including assignments that ask students to “research and write [an essay] about one of the Palestinian martyr leaders [suicide bombers]."

▪ UNRWA ambulance drivers have used their vehicles to transport weapons, ammunition, official orders to Hamas operative and the terrorist operatives themselves to missions that include the targeting of Israeli soldiers.

▪ As of 2006, all but eight (8) of the fifty-four (54) union officials in the Gaza local were directly tied to Hamas. These positions allowed Hamas to control new hires and dole out patronage.

Mark Silverberg, a former member of the Canadian Justice Department, past Consultant to the Secretary General of the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem during the first Palestinian intifada and a foreign policy analyst with the Ariel Center for Policy Research in Israel, says of the UNRWA in the context of: President Obama's Presidential Determination: No. 2009-15 of January 27, 2009

..."the best President Obama can hope for is to degrade Hamas to the point where its power and credibility are severely damaged, and to establish an international body with accountability, transparency and unprecedented oversight responsibilities to insure that the billions of dollars set to flow into Gaza reconstruction contribute directly to Palestinian life, and not end up in the political coffers of the corrupt and vastly unpopular Palestinian Authority or Islamist Hamas which will use a national "reconciliation" government as a means to gain international recognition, reap the billions of dollars of international aid, and rebuild its offensive capabilities against Israel using the Fatah-led PA as a cover while subverting Fatah control on the ground."

And Howard Linett, a member of the Suicide/Homicide Bomber Tactical Analysis Focus Group of the National Terrorism Preparedness Institute & the Technical Support Working Group of the US Department of Homeland Security, a veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces and a Sergeant-Major and sniper instructor in the Israeli Police Civil Guard, in writing from his home in Jerusalem, Israel, said:

...“During the weeks since Israel unilaterally declared a Cease-Fire in Operation Cast Lead and withdrew all its forces from the Gaza Strip the Hamas terrorists have become the anti-Robin Hoods, stealing from the poor to give to political supporters. Hamas's hijacking of food and other essential aid has been so blatant that the thievery has even been "outed" by the UN and other relief agencies. Stealing donated relief supplies at gunpoint – armed robbery – has become the terrorist thugs' manner of providing for their own and their "Chosen," at the expense of Gaza's distressed masses.”

With Hamas in the rhetorical “driver's seat” at the UNRWA, the channeling of financial and physical aid stuffs to the UNRWA by PRM is essentially facilitating the well-being of Hamas terrorists and strengthening their hold over the Gazan people.

Therein lays the motivation for Gazans to resettle to areas outside the Palestinian held territories. This also affords an opportunity for Hamas to utilize this resettlement portal to move terrorist operatives into position near targets in the West, including the United States.

It should be noted that in 2006, one-third of UNRWA's $350 million annual budget was furnished by American taxpayers................13604

I wander if he read it before he signed it like the Stimulus Bill...........:icon_thum

The union members who voted for the resolution and their president are idiots. Unions represent workers rights, its not their place to place judgment on world conflicts in this manner. It alienates workers, and lowers their bargaining ability. If they wanted to be politicians than maybe they should of chose that career path instead. As for Sid Ryan maybe someone needs to remind him that the position of Union president is not the same thing as a president of a country, his failed attempts to get an elected seat does not mean he can try and play politics elsewhere.

Al-Quada has very little support among Palestinians.

Actually it was pointed more toward "TERRORISTS HAMAS" not palestinians in general.

“The Securities and Exchange Commission accused Robert Allen Stanford, the chief of the Stanford Financial Group, on Tuesday of conducting ‘a massive ongoing fraud’ in the sale of about $8 billion of high-yielding certificates of deposit held in the firm’s bank in Antigua. Also named in the suit were two other executives and some affiliates of the financial group.”

A fund of hedge funds run by two members of Vice President Joe Biden's family was marketed exclusively by companies controlled by Texas financier R. Allen Stanford.

The $50 million fund was jointly branded between the Bidens' Paradigm Global Advisors LLC and a Stanford Financial Group entity and was known as the Paradigm Stanford Capital Management Core Alternative Fund.

The vice president's office had no comment. A spokesman for Mr. Stanford referred calls to the SEC. A spokesman for the agency declined to comment.

Mr. Stanford is also fighting an IRS claim for more than $70 million in back taxes and penalties for the years 2000 and 2001, according to documents on file at U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C.

Over the last decade, Stanford has spent more than $7 million on lobbyists and campaign contributions to Washington politics in both parties, although the vast majority of the money has gone to Democrats.

The businessman/Crook and his top executives have also contributed at least $2 million to candidates, including key lawmakers, and additional thousands of dollars on jets and resorts.

The federal investigation, however, did not stop Stanford from using corporate money to become a big man at last year's Democratic convention in Denver.

A video posted on the firm's web-site shows Stanford, now sought by U.S. Marshals, being hugged by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and praised by former President Bill Clinton for helping to finance a convention-related forum and party put on by the National Democratic Institute.

Stanford contributed $150,000 to underwrite the event. More recently, Stanford gave $5,000 to help pay for a luncheon hosted by the group.

How does a guy get away with so much crime?

By buying off politicians.

“Among the recipients of Mr. Stanford’s largesse is House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D., N.Y.).That year, Mr. Rangel traveled to Antigua for a development conference partly sponsored by Mr. Stanford, who also donated $28,300 to Mr. Rangel in 2008.”

But wait, there’s more: “Mr. Stanford wrote two $250,000 checks to the Democratic Party in 2002.”

And more: “He also was a big supporter of New York Democrat Gregory Meeks, a member of a House Financial Services subcommittee dealing with offshore banks that received an estimated $17,600 from a Stanford fund-raiser held in the Virgin Islands in July.

And more: “Influential Democratic lobbyist and fund-raiser Ben Barnes of Texas is among Mr. Stanford’s roster of advocates, lobbying records show, with $1.125 million in fees over the past two years.

“Other top recipients of the Stanford employees’ political giving are Sen. Bill Nelson (D., Fla.), who received $43,000, and Rep. Pete Sessions (R., Texas), who received $39,000.

On the state level, the largest recipient of Mr. Stanford’s help was former California Gov. Gray Davis. The Stanford Financial Group gave $200,000 for his 2002 campaign and another $100,000 to fight his recall by ballot initiative the next year.”

Join the Democratic Party. Never pay taxes again……………:drunken_s

The Antigua Sun, controlled by Texas financier R. Allen Stanford, published this photo in a June 2008 article with then-Sen. Barack Obama after a Miami speech by the presidential candidate.

Just How well did BHO know Robert Allen Stanford ?

I know its a damn big mess. Obama will never be able to clean up this shit in 4 years. I find it funny how nuts FOX is acting. They keep acting like the people expected Obama was gonna turn the economy around in 30 days or something. If anyone expected that theyre fucking nuts. Most people know that the stock market is going to continue to crash as more and more companies announce they are folding under. Hanity was actually laughing and said this deserves the people right for voting for Obama. He just said that a few minutes ago, I hope it gets put up on youtube. He is loving every minute of the economic crash now that a democrat is in office. He is a fool.

I don't think we will see the worst of this until the end of 2009 or early in 2010. By that time there are gonna be a lot of agree people so the rich people who are laughing better button their lips. If they look back at the history of the Great Depression they should be really worried. These days we have much better coverage of who is taking advantage of the people in such dire times. When violence breaks out, and it will, these guys are gonna be the first targets. They will be pulled out of their cars and beat like Reginald Deny!

I am scared at how awful its going to get. People are nutty as fuck these days. People just walk into work and shoot everyone when they have a bad day. Just imagine how often thats going to happen by 2010! And FOX news is laughing at the people? Let em eat cake so to speak eh? They are gonna learn the hard way.

Rant over

1st of all let me compliment you on your postings the last week or so, what a “Change”…….…………:icon_thum

There is a mix on what causes all the turmoil Mels.

I think the biggest on the “right” being not only higher taxes being imposed, but implementing these taxes during a major down turn in the economy, its just political suicide and they are going to get every mile out of it they can, think 2010.

Most I think know for a fact that taxes at one time or another will need to be raised no matter what the situation is. Hell everyone needs a raise now and then, and to think that Gov doesn’t is just nuts.

However with a very good percent of the American public (I think it was like 44%) not paying any Federal Income Tax at all, why would they care either way.

Come on Mels, I know your smarter than this. Obama’s solution is to Tax the evil nasty rich and give to the poor poor pitiful poor. Many don’t agree, now he is going to catch the flack for doing so. Some 47 Million folks didn’t vote for him remember?

These people “that 44%” tend to vote democrat, yes they voted for Obama and yes they have or had very high expectations as to what to expect. They were hammered with Hope and Change, from this Messiah every waking hour of the day and now they expect him to walk on water.

Remember, the country won’t exist anymore if we don’t act Now.

We needed to spend money on laptops for teachers, waterslides in Arkansas, butterfly gardens, Medicaid payments to the poor and other goodies from the political wish list or our country is going down the tubes. Just how does this “stimulate” the economy though?

Oh did you know they’re fixing to add an additional $20.5 Billion to President George W. Bush’s domestic spending requests for the current budget on top of all this? This breaks the trillion-dollar mark for nonemergency appropriations — providing $1.012 trillion for 2009, a 6.7 percent increase over 2008.

I mean now he has his Trillion-dollar government-growth bill passed. All should be peachy, right?

Seriously, think about it, after the voter drives making their daily rounds through City Parks searching park benches and Dumpster Diving in Alley ways for all these patriotic Urban Dwellers that suddenly became interested in politics and voting (many for the 1st time in their lives) what more could you expect.

Personally, I’d be ashamed to know that was the only way I could get elected to the Presidency of the United States……….. :icon_salu

ACORNS Civil Disobedience Mob working in ideological tandem with Barack Obama to bully Washington into passing a massive new foreclosure prevention/mortgage entitlement scheme seems to have backfired on them………………….

On Feb. 20, ACORN garnered nationwide media attention for breaking and entering into a foreclosed home in Baltimore at 315 South Ellwood Ave.

They “ACORN” vows to use “any means necessary” to stop foreclosures.

Turns out, the home, was not under foreclosure and had been sold in June 2008 for $192,000.

Baltimore police have taken fingerprints at the break-in site and ACORN official Louis Beverly will face a burglary charges, and the current owner, William Lane, says he will sue ACORN....................:icon_thum

Satellite to Study Global-Warming Gases Lost in Space

Feb. 24 (Bloomberg) -- A satellite launched from California failed to reach orbit today, crashing into the sea near Antarctica and dooming a $273 million mission to study global- warming gases.

The Orbiting Carbon Observatory satellite didn’t reach orbit after a 1:55 a.m. launch because the “payload fairing” failed to separate, NASA said. The fairing covers the top of the satellite during launch and needs to come off so the satellite can detach from the rocket and enter orbit.

Between 1751 and 2003, human activities released 626 billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere, NASA said. Yet only about 192 billion tons of the gas remained in the atmosphere, according to the agency.

Helping to find out where the missing carbon dioxide went was one of the satellite’s missions.

Probably an inside job, Bush did it..............:drunken_s

"As an officer, my sworn oath to support and defend our Constitution requires this"

A U.S. soldier on active duty in Iraq has called President Obama an "impostor" in a statement in which he affirmed plans to join as plaintiff in a challenge to Obama's eligibility to be commander in chief.................:drunken_s

The statement was publicized by California attorney Orly Taitz who, along with her Defend Our Freedom Foundation, is working on a series of legal cases seeking to uncover Obama's birth records and other documents that would reveal whether he meets the requirements of the U.S. Constitution.

Taitz told WND she had advised Easterling to obtain legal counsel before making any statements regarding the commander-in-chief, but he insisted on moving forward. His contention is that as an active member of the U.S. military, he is required to follow orders from a sitting president, and he needs – on pain of court-martial – to know that Obama is eligible.

When discussing taxes, it is best to leave out Federal Income Tax. The part of the national deficit that this particular tax refers to is only interest payments to the fed for US currency. Nothing else. Nothing at all. It doesn't matter who pays it, or who doesn't, it doesn't do shit anyway.

It's JP Morgan's lasting assfuck to the American people... thanks Taft...

In fact, I would tend to say that the Income Tax, and the whole Fed system screws not just the government, but the American people out of a federal tax system that actually does something.

Seriously. What the fuck are federal tax dollars doing? At all? Anywhere?

Where the hell is the federal government getting all this grant and program money, when we know that the income tax goes to a federally protected private bank to pay
interest on our currency?

The answer is simple................................:drunken_s

Another U.S. soldier on active duty in Iraq is joining a challenge to President Obama's eligibility to be commander-in-chief, citing WND's report on 1st Lt. Scott Easterling, who has agreed to be a plaintiff in a lawsuit over the issue, as his inspiration.

When Mr. Gore addressed a packed, cheering hall at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Chicago earlier this month, his climate slide show contained a startling graph showing a ceiling-high spike in disasters in recent years.

In his speech Gore attributed a wide range of recent weather events to human-caused climate change including floods in Iowa, Hurricane Ike, and the Australian bush fires.

Gore sought to sum up all of these weather anecdotes by citing data graphs from the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (also called CRED) at the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, showing that the total number of disasters has increased in recent decades

Mr. Gore described the pattern as a manifestation of human-driven climate change.

“This is creating weather-related disasters that are completely unprecedented,” he said.

Now Mr. Gore is dropping the graph, his office said today. Here’s why.

You see, two days after the talk, Mr. Gore was sharply criticized for using the data to make a point about global warming by Roger A. Pielke, Jr., a political scientist focused on disaster trends and climate policy at the University of Colorado.

Mr. Pielke noted that the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters stressed in reports that a host of factors unrelated to climate caused the enormous rise in reported disasters, guess Gore missed that part?? (details below).

“Indeed, justifying the upward trend in hydro-meteorological disaster occurrence and impacts essentially through climate change would be misleading.

CRED is fully aware of the potential for misleading interpretations of EM-DAT figures by various users. This is a risk all public datasets run….

We believe that the increase seen in the graph is explained partly by better reporting of disasters in general, partly due to active data collection efforts by CRED and partly due to real increases in certain types of disasters.

Before interpreting the upward trend in the occurrence of weather-related disasters as “completely unprecedented” and “due to global warming”, one has to take into account the complexities of disaster occurrence, human vulnerabilities and statistical reporting and registering.

Over the last 30 years, the development of telecommunications, media and increased international cooperation has played a critical role in the number of disasters that are reported internationally.

In addition, increases in humanitarian funds have encouraged reporting of more disasters, especially smaller events.

Finally, disasters are the convergence of hazards with vulnerabilities. As such, an increase of physical, social, economic or environmental vulnerabilities can mean an increase in the occurrence of disasters.

Officials at the disaster center sent a comment to Dr. Pielke’s of CRED:

“We appreciate that you have pointed out the issues with the CRED database and will make the switch back to the data we used previously to ensure that there is no confusion either with regards to the data or attribution.”

Obama Less Popular Than Bush After First Month in Office

Polls, Obama Strong But Average, Way Divided and slowly Dipping

As Obama-loving media gush and swoon while they report the new President's popularity, an inconvenient truth emerged Tuesday that seems destined to get ignored: after one month in office, George W. Bush was more popular than the current White House occupant.

Impossible, you say?

Well, before Obama stepped in front of Congress this evening, Gallup published the following:

For the first time since Gallup began tracking Barack Obama's presidential job approval rating on Jan. 21, fewer than 60% of Americans approve of the job he is doing as president. In Feb. 21-23 polling, 59% of Americans give Obama a positive review, while 25% say they disapprove, and 16% have no opinion.

Almost exactly eight years ago, then newly-elected President Bush's numbers were 62 percent approving his performance, 21 percent disapproving, and 17 percent having no opinion (scroll about 3/4 down this Polling Report link).

As such, regardless of how hard media are working to foster this view that this is the most popular president in the modern era, such is not the case.

I somehow doubt this will get a lot of attention from the teeming hordes of press members who worked so diligently to get him elected.

Look-alike TV character teaches kids to fight for Islam's world domination

Palestinian children are being entertained and indoctrinated on television by a Mickey Mouse-knockoff who teaches them to fight for Israel's destruction and Islam's domination over the entire world.

Farfur and his co-host, a young girl named Saraa', take every opportunity to indoctrinate young viewers with teachings of Islamic supremacy, hatred of Israel and the U.S. and support of "resistance" – the Palestinian euphemism for terrorism, reports the Israel-based Palestinian Media Watch.

Saraa' explains the nucleus of world Islamic leadership will be from "all of Palestine," meaning elimination of the entire state of Israel.

Farfur urges the children to "resist" Israel, "the oppressive invading Zionist occupation."

Farfur tells children they must pray in the mosque five times a day until there is "world leadership under Islamic leadership."

"We, tomorrow's pioneers, will restore to this nation its glory, and we will liberate Al-Aqsa, with Allah's will, and we will liberate Iraq, with Allah's will, and we will liberate the Muslim countries, invaded by murderers," the mouse character says.

Child viewers phone in to the show and recite poems with images of hate and violence, according to PMW.

Well when Bush stepped into office the economy was great and we had a surplus of money on hand.

For evidence of this, let's review Clinton..??

1998 "CBO" Congressional Budget Office Puts Clinton Deficit at $69 Billion

America must have misunderstood. Evidently what Bill Clinton meant five years ago was that he would "plan" for five years to balance the budget -- but never do it.

At least that's the way it has worked out. Every year he has been in office, President Clinton has submitted a budget that does not balance.

According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), Clinton's FY 1998 budget leaves a deficit of $69 billion in 2002, and adds $586 billion in deficit spending over the next five years.

The tax data suggest that Clinton's economic policies actually may have sapped the economic recovery and produced a deficit larger than it otherwise could have been.

Not a dime of this deficit reduction is from controlling spending. The "era of big government" was not over; it was just hiding behind the business cycle and post-Cold War defense policy.

Senate OKs DeMint's Fairness Doctrine Ban

The Fairness Doctrine was originally instituted in 1949 by the FCC and required broadcasters using the public airwaves to give equal time to opposing political views. The FCC repealed the measure in 1987 during Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

Since talk radio is overwhelmingly dominated by conservative hosts, and liberal talk radio draws few listeners, the “equal time” provision would likely force many radio stations to pull popular conservative hosts from the air rather than air low-rated liberal hosts.

Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois also won approval for an alternate amendment ordering the Federal Communications Commission to encourage radio ownership "diversity."??

He must be related to the Obama lover that keeps deleting my threads and posts……:icon_salu

A DeMint aide said Durbin's measure will "impose the Fairness Doctrine through the back door by trying to break up radio ownership,”

DeMint said: "We need to make it a law that the FCC or this Congress cannot implement any aspect of the Fairness Doctrine."

Illinois Governor Looks Into the Hiring of Burris' Son

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - Gov. Pat Quinn is reviewing how the son of embattled Sen. Roland Burris got a state job as a housing-agency lawyer under ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration, just weeks after he landed in tax and foreclosure trouble.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported in Thursday editions that the September hiring of Burris II as senior counsel for the Illinois Housing Development Authority came six weeks after the Internal Revenue Service slapped him with a $34,163 tax lien and three weeks after a mortgage company filed a foreclosure lawsuit on his Chicago home.

Quinn said Thursday that his office is reviewing how Burris' son got the job to "make sure everything is right and proper."……………..:icon_thum

Training Future Generations of Tree-Dwelling Moonbats

Remember the moonbats who climbed up in the trees in Berkeley and wouldn't come down for nearly two years because they wanted to prevent a sports complex from being built? Remember Tinseltown bubblehead Daryl Hannah, who climbed into a tree on someone else's property on behalf of Mexican squatters, so that she had to be extracted like a cat? Another generation of arboreal Marxists is heading down the pipe.

An Englishman's Castle reports that children are being assigned this book as homework:

13619

Here's the plot: A nice old geezer has a tree in his yard, and he lets kids play in it. But then he sells the house, and the new owner decides to cut the tree down. So the kids climb up the tree and sing protest songs, with the encouragement of their parents. The owner calls the police, but soon the mayor arrives to confirm that trees belong to everyone. The mayor takes over the house and the children play in their communist tree happily ever after.

Needless to say, children raised on this evil garbage are going to be slow to grasp that property rights are the fundamental basis of free civilization.

Educrats don't find the school day long enough to cram children's heads full of all the degenerate moonbattery they want to impose, so they have extended their brainwashing campaign into extracurricular activities by having kids stage the play "Rent," a romp through the sewer that features homosexuals, drag queens, thieves, and AIDS.

The student version throws a bone to parents by cleaning up some of the foul language, but keeps the "sex education" aspects intact.

"Discrimination" is moonbattese for resisting corruption and depravity.

But despite the "life skills" children might learn, grownups thankfully stepped in and canceled the production, leaving Martin to squeal that "homosexuality is not wrong!"

"Operation Xcellerator,"

Federal authorities arrested more than 750 people across the country in what they describe as "the largest and hardest hitting" operation to ever target the "the very violent and dangerously powerful" drug cartel known as Sinaloa.

Through "Operation Xcellerator," as it was dubbed, authorities say they seized more than $59 million in cash, 149 vehicles, three aircraft and three ships used by the cartel.

In terms of drugs, authorities confiscated more than 16,000 pounds of marijuana, 12,000 kilos of cocaine, about 1.3 million Ecstasy pills and significant quantities of other narcotics.

American taste for soft toilet roll 'worse than driving Hummers'

Extra-soft, quilted and multi-ply toilet roll made from virgin forest causes more damage than gas-guzzlers, fast food or McMansions, say campaigners

Americans like their toilet tissue soft: exotic confections that are silken, thick and hot-air-fluffed.

The national obsession with soft paper has driven the growth of brands like Cottonelle Ultra, Quilted Northern Ultra and Charmin Ultra -- which in 2008 alone increased its sales by 40 percent in some markets, according to Information Resources, Inc., a marketing research firm. Some serious ass wiping going on………:drunken_s

But fluffiness comes at a price: millions of trees harvested in North America and in Latin American countries, including some percentage of trees from rare old-growth forests in Canada. Maybe we could use the leaves.........

It is the fiber taken from standing trees that help give it that plush feel, and most large manufacturers rely on them.

Naturally, America is to blame:

Other countries are far less picky about toilet tissue. In many European nations, a rough sheet of paper is deemed sufficient. Is that whats wrong wth them?

"I really do think it is overwhelmingly an American phenomenom," said Hershkowitz. "People just don't understand that softness equals ecological destruction."…………..

Google 'Censoring' anti-Obama bloggers?

Writer claims Internet giant banning stories that expose president-elect

Is Google censoring anti-Obama stories?

Pamela Gellar of Atlas Shrugs claims the search engine giant has banned her groundbreaking articles about Obama – a technique many people refer to as "sandboxing."

"There was no warning, no notice, nothing," Gellar told WND.

However, Atlas Shrugs is not new, and Gellar believes her stories have been intentionally suppressed by the Internet giant – especially ones about President-elect Obama. She said her exclusive stories about Obama's birth certificate that once received thousands of hits every day will not come up in Google word searches.

"I was in the top five search results before the story got legs," she said. "These stories drove 12,000 to 15,000 people to my site every day."

Major market yardsticks broke through one long-term low after another this week.

Could it be that Americans know socialism when they see it, and reject investing in a losing proposition?

How Does a “Net Spending Cut” and “Pay-As-You-Go” Turn into a $1.75 Trillion Deficit?

A late burst of selling sealed a dismal finish for the stock market, which hit a fresh 12-year low on Friday as Citigroup sold a bigger chunk of itself to the government and General Electric slashed its dividend, spooking investors who were already jittery.

Many market veterans now expect the market to continue such a slog in the days ahead, with both new lows and short-term rallies likely.

In the closing weeks of last year's election campaign, we wrote that Democrats had in mind the most sweeping expansion of government in decades.

Liberals clucked, but it turns out even we've been outbid.

With the fiscal 2010 budget proposal, President Obama is attempting not merely to expand the role of the federal government but to put it in such a dominant position that its power can never be rolled back.

Not much about the Auto Bailouts here lately, but I did find this………:drunken_s

WASHINGTON -- The vehicles owned by the Obama administration's Auto Team could reflect one reason why Detroit's Big Three automakers are in trouble: The list includes few new American cars.

Among the eight members named Friday to the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry and the 10 senior policy aides who will assist them in their work, only two own American models.

Add the Treasury Department's special adviser to the task force and the total jumps to three.

The Detroit News reviewed public records to discover what many of the task force and staff members drove, but information was not available on all of the officials, and records for some states were not complete.

Republicans Didn’t Applaud Obama for Fear of Limbaugh and Hannity

(CNSNews.com) - Mindless Republicans are heeding the iron discipline of conservative talk radio hosts Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) told

That they are so afraid of being yelled at by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity that they won’t even clap for him [Obama] when they agree with him.”

“I think they are frustrated by how effective he [Obama] is that they are not open to him,” said Frank.

The End of Obama Mania..?

Unique visitors to the Obama-loving website Daily Kos have declined a whopping 73 percent since last fall -- a TOTAL disaster..................:hi

What the hell is going on.......................??

The TV ratings for February have been tabulated, and in the world of cable news there is weeping on the left.

The recession is bringing massive pain to America, and responsible citizens want the truth about public policy, not partisan cheerleading.

Thus, many news consumers do not trust news operations and websites that have a vested interest in seeing Obama succeed in the White House.

February Ratings: FNC Beats CNN and MSNBC Combined in Total Viewers

Fox News was the ratings leader during prime time and total day during February 2009 — its 86th month on top.

FNC averaged more Total Viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined in prime time and total day.

FNC had 9 out of the top 10 programs in cable news last month in Total Viewers...:icon_salu

Here is a few I know ya’ll will like……………………….:drunken_s

The O'Reilly Factor was #1 for the 99th consecutive month (up 33%)

Hannity (up 38%),

Glenn Beck with the 5pm ET hour was (up 100%),

Shepard Smith with the FOX Report (up 30%)

Greta Van Susteren and On Record was (up 24%)

White House aides told Jewish leaders on a conference call today that the United States will boycott the United Nations' World Conference on Racism over hostility to Israel in draft documents prepared for the April conference.

The administration will not participate in further negotiations on the current text or participate in a conference based on the text.

The conference is known informally as Durban II after a 2001 conference in South Africa that included a heavy focus on Israel and calls to reinstate a U.N. resolution equating Zionism and racism.

Libya is chairing the preparatory meetings for this year's conference, one of several factors prompting boycott calls.

The draft outcome document, typically negotiated in advance ontains sharp and specific criticism of Israel for its treatment of the Palestinians.

Wstern European Ntions and Canada have also signaled that they may boycott the conference in Geneva.

Obama is expected to issue a statement on the subject later this afternoon, and the participants were asked not to discuss the call until a formal statement is released.

Like all good celebrities, Joe the Plumber has needed to hire a publicity team also.

The Press Office in Nashville, where clients include rockers Grand Funk Railroad and Eddie Money, will help him handle the flood of interview and appearance requests that have poured in.

Offers of all kinds came at him: radio show host, endorsements for plumbing products, clothing lines, guest appearances on TV and radio and as a political headliner.

"It's like any other celebrity who is in the public eye," said Jim Della Croce, who owns the agency.

"There needs to be someone acting as a clearinghouse and interpreting the opportunities and coordinating the media requests, and he truly is being inundated."

Obama Challenges Lobbyists to Legislative Duel

He said his ambitious budget plan, unveiled Thursday, will help millions of Americans, but only if Congress overcomes resistance from deep-pocket lobbies.

"I know these steps won't sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they're gearing up for a fight,"

"My message to them is this: So am I."

Then we have:

House Kills Effort to Investigate Lobbyist-Lawmaker Ties

The House voted Wednesday to kill a resolution calling for an ethics investigation into potential quid pro quo between lobbyist campaign donations and lawmakers.

Rep. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., sponsored the proposal that would have forced the House Ethics Committee to launch a probe into ties between the source and timing of campaign contributions by lobbyists and subsequent legislator requests for special projects or earmarks.

The House decided to set aside the proposal by a mostly party-line 226-182 vote, though 17 Democrats joined Republicans in support of considering the measure.

FORD TOUGH

The Ford Motor Company has reached an agreement with the United Auto Workers Union (UAW) regarding payments into the Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association (VEBA) that will transfer responsibility for retiree healthcare from the automaker to the union.

Ford this week announced that it is adding a third shift to produce Ford F-150 pickups at its Dearborn Truck Plant.

The addition of the third shift will boost total employment at the plant by about 1,000 to 3,470.

While the truck market remain depressed (Ford’s F-Series sales dropped 25 percent in December), other markets such as hybrid sales are in free fall with the Ford Escape Hybrid down 50 percent.

Ford says the shift changes are a reaction to market demand. Since the company launched its redesigned F-150 in October, full-size pickup sales have increased market share by 5 percent to 35 percent of the market.

“Despite the economic situation here, we are gaining share, and the dealer demand and the customer demand” remain strong, says F-150 marketing manager Mark Grueber. “They are asking for more trucks from us.”

Clearly, someone didn’t get the memo from Washington central planning that Americans only want small hybrids.

Lawsuits challenge “Sanctuary Cities” policies

Margaret and Haley were sitting down to enjoy ice cream in Aurora, Colo., when a vehicle driven by an illegal immigrant sent two cars plowing into the shop, leaving three dead and the two women injured.

Now the women are taking action against Denver, arguing that its sanctuary-city policy contributed to the Sept. 4 crash.

The driver, 23-year-old Francis Hernandez, had been arrested numerous times by Denver police, but was never reported to federal immigration authorities.

"Despite these numerous arrests and the readily ascertainable illegal-immigrant status of Mr. Hernandez, at no time were proper procedures relating to the reporting, detention and handling of illegal immigrants followed by the law-enforcement agencies of the city of Denver," said the claim, filed on behalf of Ms. Rains.

Now the American Civil Liberties Union has jumped into the ring and upped the ante, rolling out a campaign that will install signs inside buses informing riders of their rights — to ignore Border Patrol agents.

PITTSBURGH -- Target 11 has learned a Cranberry company that monitors peer-to-peer file-sharing networks discovered what it said is a potentially serious security breach involving President Barack Obama’s helicopter.

Tiversa employees found engineering and communications information about Marine One at an IP address in Tehran, Iran.

Bob Boback, CEO of Tiversa, said, ”We found a file containing entire blueprints and avionics package for Marine One,which is the president's helicopter."

The company was able to trace the file back to its original source.

"What appears to be a defense contractor in Bethesda, MD had a file sharing program on one of their systems that also contained highly sensitive blueprints for Marine One," Boback said.

Tiversa also found sensitive financial information about the cost of the helicopter on that same computer.

Boback said someone from the company most likely downloaded a file-sharing program, typically used to exchange music, not realizing the potential problems.

"When downloading one of these file-sharing programs, you are effectively allowing others around the world to access your hard drive," Boback said.

Oh Oh, now we're going to have a peer-to-peer file-sharing network "Czar"...................:drunken_s

'Largest public protest of global warming ever in USA faces Snowstorm!

NASA's chief climate scientist is in hot water with colleagues and at least one lawmaker after calling on citizens to engage in civil disobedience at what is being billed as the largest public protest of global warming ever in the United States.

"We need to send a message to Congress and the president that we want them to take the actions that are needed to preserve climate for young people and future generations and all life on the planet," says Hansen, who has likened coal-fired power plants to "factories of death" and claims he was muzzled by the Bush administration when he warned of drastic climate changes.

But critics say Hansen's latest call to action blurs the line between astronomer and activist and may violate the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from participating in partisan political activity.

One of Hansen's former supervisors, Dr. John Theon, told FOXNews.com when informed of the video. "I'm not surprised ... "Why he has not been fired I do not understand," Theon said. "As a civil servant, you can't participate in calling for a public demonstration.

You may be able to participate as a private citizen, but when you go on the Internet and call for people to break the law, that's a problem."

Theon, a former senior NASA atmospheric scientist, rebuked Hansen last month in a letter to the Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee, saying Hansen had violated NASA's official position on climate forecasting without sufficient evidence and embarrassed the agency by airing his claims before Congress in 1988.

I'm also somewhat insinuating that North America is a very wasteful society, and should start to shift its thinking into better sustainability.

This is not the most recent but it will give you a good idea on “Recycling Statistics” across America.

Between the years 1960 and 2006 the EPA estimates show the Recycling of MSW “Municiple Solid Waste” in America has increased from 6.4% to 32.5% saving the equivalent of 10 Billion gallons of gasoline.

Doesn’t really go along with your insinuation of America as a very wasteful society now does it?

Donors pledge aid to rebuild Gaza, shun Hamas……………

"We definitely don't want to see the goodwill of the international community exploited by Hamas and serve Hamas's extremist purposes," said Mark Regev, a spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.

The West shuns Hamas because it refuses to recognize Israel, renounce violence and commit to interim peace deals with the Jewish state.

Israel tightened its grip on Gaza's border crossings after Hamas took control in June 2007, and says it will closely manage Gaza reconstruction by requiring project-by-project approval and guarantees that projects will not benefit Hamas.

"Our first and indispensable goal, therefore, is open crossings. By the same token, however, it is therefore essential to ensure that illegal weapons do not enter Gaza."

More than 110 rockets and mortar shells have exploded in Israel in the six weeks since it ended its air and ground onslaught against Gaza, which was meant to end the rocket threat and stanch the flow of arms into Gaza.

Israel refuses the entry of materials it says could be also used by militants to build rockets thru its crossings.

Yes it does, its been a wasteful society since well before the 1960's. The fact that its now starting to consume less is irrelevant to the big picture. It would also be interesting to see if the waste generated by China for products sold to the U.S. would affect those numbers. Some of the manufacturing that used to represent a net waste may no longer factor into those statistics, yet Americans are still responsible for the waste during its manufacturing process by proxy. Canada and all of western culture is just as bad in terms of consumption. Our society should seriously get our shit together and stop polluting our ecosystem.

As an example my province was looking at allowing gold mining underneath my cities source of potable water. Gold mining uses and releases a bunch of toxic chemicals into the ecosystem, so essentially they were going to risk fresh water for some gold. Screw that kind of bullshit mentality, where is the intelligence in the management of our surroundings?

I suppose anything could be improved on for sure.

PACs spent record $416M on Federal Election

A USA TODAY analysis of campaign contributions identified 175 members of Congress who received half or more of their campaign cash from political action committees in 2007-08.

"The purpose of PAC giving is so a company can buy a seat at the table," said Craig Holman, of the watchdog group Public Citizen.

There are 4,600 business, labor and special-interest PACs, according to the Federal Election Commission. Most can give $5,000 to a candidate per election, more than twice the individual limit.

Of the lawmakers who took more than half of their money from PACs, 126 were Democrats and 49 were Republicans, the analysis of FEC data shows. The FEC numbers include contributions from other federal candidates and their PACs.

The Foreclosure Five

One out of 76 homes in Nevada went into foreclosure in January, for example, compared with one out of 173 in California, with Arizona and Florida close behind.

In New York, by contrast, only 1 out of 2,271 homes went into foreclosure.

Nationwide, foreclosures fell 10% in January, to one out of every 466 homes. But that is a "mean" average dominated by places like California and Florida.

In the median state with the 25th highest foreclosure rate, by contrast, only one out of 949 homes was in foreclosure - just one-tenth of 1%.

Foreclosure rates were even lower in 25 other states.

In Vermont, foreclosures amounted to just 1 in out of 51,906 homes.

Foreclosure can be a personal crisis, but it is most certainly not a national crisis.

THE REST OF US ARE PAYING FOR THE IRRESPONSIBILITY OF A FEW

The beneficiaries of taxpayer charity will be highly concentrated in just five states - California, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and Michigan.

That is not because the subsidized homeowners are poor (Californians with $700,000 mortgages are not poor), but because they took on too much debt, often by refinancing in risky ways to "cash out" thousands more than the original loan.

Nearly all subprime loans were for refinancing, not buying a home.

Double-digit declines in home prices were confined to just four states - surprise, every one of the Foreclosure Five except Michigan.

It's nice to hear Reaganesque optimism, but that alone can't hide BHO's socialist agenda.

Only two more states are needed to stop the federal government from usurping states' rights.

On February 5, 2009, I released a column titled New Hampshire Leads Next American Revolution! At the time, only a handful of states had introduced legislative efforts to reclaim state sovereignty under the Ninth and Tenth Amendments of the US Constitution.

As of February 17th, when I released It’s Time for American Freedom Fighters to Unite, some twenty states had followed that lead, introducing measures of their own aimed at reclaiming state rights to defend against what was clearly becoming a runaway Democratic Socialist juggernaut in Washington DC, running roughshod over Republican members of congress and the millions of Americans they represent.

Today, the number of states claiming state sovereignty, some outlining specific federal actions that have far more to do with usurping the US Constitution than upholding it, has grown to at least thirty two… the magic number is 34....

It’s all happening so fast, that we have not had time to fully verify the text and status of every state effort, but there is NO missing the clear implications. Where are they heading here? What does it all mean?

If ever in our history there was a time to being to push back against big government, this might be "our moment."

HUGE Pro-Constitution blogs like Free Republic run by Jim Robinson are issuing “calls to action” in an effort to get literally hundreds of fractured movements to communicate and network together in defense of American Constitutional Rights currently under siege in Washington DC.

Like the overwhelming majority of mindless drivel you post here, the above statement is meaningless and hollow.

Without the information necessary to give a complete picture, the percentage of increase in how much we recycle in one year compared with another year without context only shows that we have improved somewhat in our recycling efforts.

MR posted that America is wasteful. Your statement does not deny or disprove that - it quotes a meaningless statistic while your comments only serve to bait and incite. If you want a "fair and balanced" view or want present a valid argument, you would post the recycling ratio of a product and compare that with the recycling ratio of other countries.

You know - something like "In 2002, Brazil recycled 94% of their aluminum, Japan recycle 91%, and Sweden recycled 88% of it's aluminum. By contract, the US only recycled around 52%".

In 2007, Europe recycled 64.5% of it's paper, while the US recycled only 56%.

If you did that, I have no doubt you would find MR's statement to be true - America is wasteful.

I repeat........even if everyone was to go back to Ox and Carts for transportation and use Tree Leaves or Grass to wipe their ass you tree huggers still wouldn’t be satisfied.

Compare Intitlement Spending to the Deficit Spending

WSJ: As Dow keeps dropping, Obama running out of people to blame...

As 2009 opened, three weeks before Barack Obama took office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 9034 on January 2, its highest level since the autumn panic.

Yesterday the Dow fell another 4.24% to 6763, for an overall decline of 25% in two months and to its lowest level since 1997.

The dismaying message here is that President Obama's policies have become part of the economy's problem.

Americans have welcomed the Obama era in the same spirit of hope the President campaigned on. But after five weeks in office, it's become clear that Mr. Obama's policies are slowing, if not stopping, what would otherwise be the normal process of economic recovery.

From punishing business to squandering scarce national public resources, Team Obama is creating more uncertainty and less confidence -- and thus a longer period of recession or subpar growth.

One of life's greatest mysteries has now been solved.

Georg Steinhauser, a young, affable Austrian chemist, spent three years gazing at his own navel — and those of friends and family as well — to discover how exactly we get belly-button lint.

About That "Deficit you Inherited" Mr. Obama

Deficit Spending With Democrats

Feb. 13, 2008 - The first "stimulus" bill, H.R. 5140, became law, putting checks in the mail.

Democrat Response: 215 House Democrats (93%) voted to add $124.4 billion to the deficit (CBO). Senator Obama did not show up to vote.

July 30, 2008 - H.R. 3221 became law, allowing the government to insure $300 billion in mortgage loans.

Democrat Response: 227 House Democrats (96%) voted to add $24.9 billion to the deficit (CBO). Senator Obama expressed support but did not show up to vote.

Oct. 3, 2008 - H.R. 1424 became law, authorizing $700 billion for TARP.

Democrat Response: 172 House Democrats (73%) and Senator Obama voted to bailout Wall Street with $700 billion (CBO).

Dec. 10, 2008 - The House passed H.R. 7321 to bail out automakers. When it did not pass the Senate, the Treasury provided a bailout with very similar terms.

Democrat Response: 205 House Democrats (87%) voted to spend $16.168 billion (CBO) with President-elect Obama's full support.

Feb. 17, 2009 - The non-stimulus bill, H.R. 1, became law, spending $787 billion on long-time Democrat priorities and pseudo tax relief for non-taxpayers.

Democrat Response: 246 House Democrats (96%) voted to add $787 billion to the deficit (CBO) with President Obama's full support.

Feb. 25, 2009 - H.R. 1105 passed the House of Representatives, spending $410 billion on a pork-laden omnibus bill that gave big increases to existing government programs.

Democrat Response: 229 House Democrats (91%) voted to spend $410 billion with President Obama's full support.

Democrat Opposition? Not Quite. Just remember, that Dems have been in charge in Congress for two years before Barack Obama became the President. Just because he was campaigning the whole time doesn't mean that he wasn't part of the policies at the time.

Enter Michelle Obama, UCMC's "Vice President for Community and External Affairs."

The First Lady helped create a notorious program that dumped poor patients on community hospitals, yet the national media ignore the story.

The University of Chicago Medical Center has received a good deal of justly opprobrious press over its policy of "redirecting" low-income patients to community hospitals while reserving its own beds for well-heeled patients requiring highly profitable procedures.

Substantial coverage was given to a recent indictment of the program by the American College of Emergency Physicians. ACEP's president, Dr. Nick Jouriles, released a statement suggesting that the initiative comes "dangerously close to ‘patient dumping,' a practice made illegal by the Emergency Medical Labor and Treatment Act, and reflected an effort to ‘cherry pick' wealthy patients over poor."

Oddly absent from most of the unflattering press coverage of UCMC's patient-dumping scheme is any mention of the role our new First Lady played in devising the program. A laudable exception has been the Chicago Sun-Times, which reported last August that "Michelle Obama -- currently on unpaid leave from her $317,000-a-year job as a vice president of the prestigious hospital -- helped create the program."

But no amount of journalistic lipstick can hide the reality that Mrs. Obama's initiative is a patient-dumping scheme.

Such "cherry-picking," as Dr. Jouriles accurately describes it, was, at one time, fairly common. Prestigious institutions like the University of Chicago Medical Center routinely "dumped" Medicaid, uninsured and other unprofitable patients on less mercenary community hospitals.

Many patients suffered needlessly, and more than a few actually died, as the result of this practice.

FEC to fine Edwards more than $170,000 over "Campaign Contributions"

WASHINGTON — The Federal Election Commission is expected to order former Sen. John Edwards' campaign to pay a fine of more than $170,000 for accepting excessive contributions and other violations involving his 2004 presidential bid.

The recommendation was part of the FEC's staff audit of Edwards' campaign, a routine practice for presidential candidates who receive public funds.

In total, auditors said he was ineligible to transfer $508,000 of $963,000 he funneled between his Senate and presidential committees. The money should've either been returned to contributors, or their permission to shift the donations to another contest should've been sought.

I wander how long it will take the Laimstream Media to pickup on this story...??

With Bush gone it clicked……………

Democrats realized they could roll out a new GOP bogeyman for the post-Bush era by turning to an old one in Limbaugh, a polarizing figure since he rose to prominence in the 1990s.

Limbaugh is embracing the line of attack, suggesting a certain symbiosis between him and his political adversaries.

"The Administration is enabling me,” he wrote in an email to POLITICO. “They are expanding my profile, expanding my audience and expanding my influence.

An ever larger number of people are now being exposed to the antidote to Obamaism: conservatism, as articulated by me.

An ever larger number of people are now exposed to substantive warnings, analysis and criticism of Obama's policies and intentions, a ‘story’ I own because the [Laimstream Media] is largely the Obama Press Office.”

DANCING THE RECESSION AWAY: CONGA LINES, PARTIES, COCKTAILS AT OBAMA WHITE HOUSE...

"You can't take a trip to Las Vegas or down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers' dime," Obama commented last month.

But the White House is the place to be on Wednesdays.

While everyone else endures higher taxes, loose jobs along with their bank accounts, cutting back, learning to live with this recession Obama throws parties.

Since the presidency changed hands less than six weeks ago, a burst of entertaining has taken hold of the iconic, white-columned home of America's head of state. Much of it comes on Wednesdays.

The stately East Room, where portraits of George and Martha Washington adorn the walls, was transformed into a concert hall as Barrack Obama presented Stevie Wonder with the nation's highest award for pop music on Wednesday.

A week before that, the foot-stomping sounds of Sweet Honey in the Rock, a female a cappella group, filled the East Room for a Black History Month program first lady Michelle Obama held for nearly 200 sixth- and seventh-graders from around the city.

Cocktails were sipped during at least three such receptions to date, all held on Wednesdays.

Book ending the midweek activity were a Super Bowl party for select Democratic and Republican lawmakers and a dinner for governors, the new administration's first black-tie affair.

It was capped with a performance by the 1970s pop group Earth, Wind and Fire. And a conga line.

The flurry of entertaining is in keeping with the Obama’s promise to make the White House a more open place for everyone……………………

The governors' dinner was "a great kickoff of what we hope will be an atmosphere here in the White House that is welcoming and that reminds everybody that this is the people's house," Obama told the state chief executives after they had dined on Maryland crab, Wagyu beef, Nantucket scallops and citrus salad.

But these rich folk who actually earned their money, he’d have us believe are living high on the hog, gilding the lily at our expense.

If You Play Ball With the Government, Expect to Strike Out

This is the story of a bank. It wasn’t one of those irresponsible banks that rode the subprime boom until the bottom fell out. It was a bank that hedged its risks, a bank that made sure its balance sheets added up.

That bank was called Bank of America. And certain government officials are now talking about nationalizing it. What happened? Bank of America got in bed with the government.

Enthusiastic response of government officials ranging from Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., to Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., suggests the significant possibility of a covert guarantee by the government to pick up the slack in case loans went bad.

So starting in January 2008, Bank of America, which had zero subprime exposure, decided to step in and buy Countrywide.

In September 2008, government officials began talking up the idea of government interventionism—creating a Troubled Assets Relief Program designed to buy up bad mortgages.

So encouraged by such talk, Lewis fell in love with the idea of buying up Merrill Lynch. On Sept. 15, he made the initial offer to buy Merrill Lynch in a whopping $50 billion all-stock deal.

There was only one problem: Bank of America CEO Lewis did not anticipate that the government would renege on its TARP promises.

Instead of taking bad assets off the books, the government would be buying into banking. In November, Paulson announced that nine of the nation’s largest banks would be taking $125 billion in government capital. Refusal was not an option.

So in December, Lewis tried to back out of the deal. He tried to claim that Merrill’s rapidly accruing losses were unforeseen, and that there had been a material change in Merrill’s financial situation. The government wasn’t buying it.

According to the Wall Street Journal, on Dec. 19, Federal Reserve Bank Chief Ben Bernanke and assorted Fed officials told Lewis that B of A could not pull out of the deal—that if the Merrill deal fell through, B of A could expect no help from the government at any time in the future.

Not only that, if the deal fell through, government “would consider ousting executives and directors.”……………WTF

Now Bank of America stands on the brink of annihilation. The government owns 6 percent of B of A, making it the bank’s largest shareholder.

Left to its own devices, Bank of America did business the right way. Once Bank of America began relying on the government for help, however, it was only a matter of time before B of A became a tool of the federal government rather than a beneficiary of government benevolence.

Americans, many of whom are all too eager to take government cash, should take note. Once you play ball with the government, it’s only a matter of time before you strike out.

Socialists like Obama, cannot work in an environment in which leaders and citizens do not do-si-do when he says so.

Geez, the press corps can’t even toss him a question during a meet and greet without Barack getting testy.

Therefore, Limbaugh, and all dissenters like him, must bow and kiss the ring or suffer vilification and marginalization for not being “bipartisan and tolerant.”

I would rather bikini wax a sensitive and livid grizzly sow than be a “tolerant bipartisan” toward the bloated government, pro-death, anti-free market, crap on traditional values, socialism squared, nanny state policies Obama has floated in the last few days.

For Barack and his buddies to accomplish the creation of Obamaland, they must level critics, rewrite records, become judge and jury of all things everywhere, homogenize cultures, pimp style over substance and deify power while they prop up the “victims of the system” to run their Circus Maximus.

In Obamaland where truth is dead, muscle power becomes the operative standard of speech. The results are cultic conformity and group bullying. The chief orgasmic goal of the elders of Obamaland is to create a rock-solid environment of political correctness—with the intended end being the cowing of people who might rustle their feathers by not parroting their already tried (and been found wanting) opinions.

They can’t allow people to speak and think freely because the realist and the truth dealer would pee on their little party.

That’s exactly what Rush is doing, and I’ll think I’ll join him.

TAXING YOUR HEALTHCARE

Max Baucus is determined to have his hands all over this government healthcare plan.

And here is his latest brilliant plan: tax workers on their employer-sponsored health insurance in order to pay for government healthcare for the currently uninsured.
Unbelievable.

As of right now, 160 million workers get their health insurance through their employer. It is not taxed as income, and a lot of people say that this leads to workers seeking a more generous benefits package than they might want if it was taxed.

As you know, under Democrat rule you aren't allowed to get any benefit from anywhere unless it is taxed. Now its your health care plan.

Next will be your parking space and that free coffee in the break room.

Come on! Think about it! If you're taxed on the health insurance coverage provided you by your employer .. why not that coffee?

Why not the value of those do-nuts your boss brings in every Friday?

How far can these tax and spend Democrats go?

Senators Debate Global Warming Policy Despite Global Cooling Evidence

(CNSNews.com) - Democratic senators told CNSNews.com on Tuesday that despite a recent study that shows global temperatures have been dropping since 2001 and that projects the globe will continue to cool for the next several decades, they think the United States should continue to push forward with aggressive action to curb climate change.

Tsonis, the co-author of the study -- which received national attention on Tuesday due to two large global warming rallies at the U.S. Capitol building -- told CNSNews.com that his work indicated that temperatures had flattened and slightly decreased since 2001 and that, due to natural cycles, temperature would continue to decrease for several decades.

“The temperature has flattened and is actually going down,” Tsonis told CNSNews.com. “We are seeing a new shift towards cooler temperatures that will last for probably about three decades.”

But Tsonis also said that neither he nor Swanson think their study undermines arguments for global warming caused by human activity.

“We are not saying there is not warming due to human activity,” Tsonis told CNSNews.com.

‘We are saying that there are natural shifts on top of that. But, for now, it looks like it is going to cool.”

“I think we should do everything we can to clean our air and water but it makes absolutely no sense to add to the cost of energy in this country in the process,” DeMint told CNSNews.com.

“If we look at the facts, there is no suggestion that we need to panic and do something that is going to further hurt our economy and the standard of living in our country.”

Using a massive $410 billion spending bill as a cloak, Democrat leaders in Congress have been caught attempting to create almost limitless new federal powers to regulate climate change without any public notice, public comment, or public debate.

The provision slipped into this bill would allow the Department of Interior to regulate all greenhouse gas emissions across the entire country based on the listing of the polar bear as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

We all want to conserve and protect the polar bear. There’s no argument on that point.

This provision, however, is not about the polar bear, but rather using the listing of the polar bear as a threatened species in order to regulate greenhouse gas activities throughout the U.S.

Listen! Listen! Can you hear it? it's the sound of Barack Obama bumper stickers being torn off of cars all over this freaking country.

Are you kidding me?! This guy is a disaster. Change? Change? Nobody knew what change was then. And Nobody knows what change is now. But, nobody voted for "change". They voted for Barack Obama. They voted for this mythical creature that was created by the liberal mainstream media. By the propaganda machine that runs this country.

If people really voted for "change" they would have been just as excited if Hillary Clinton or if Joe Biden were running for President.

Are you telling me that if Joe Biden would have been running against John McCain for president, people would have been just as enthusiastic? People who never voted before. People who never cared about politics. Would have come out of their houses in droves to vote for Joe Biden? No! They voted for Barack Obama. Not "change". And they're finally starting to realize, Barack Obama is an empty suit.

Barack Obama is the worst reality show ever created in this country. And the biggest problem with the Barack Obama reality show is, we can't cancel it, for at least four years!

We have to watch this thing, day after day. Night after night. Week after week. Month after month. Year after year...

Episode #1 -- On the Road to Socialism.

Episode #2 -- 9 Trillion dollars of taxpayers money spent on nonsense.

Episode #3 -- Let's take money from the responsible people and give it to the irresponsible people.

Episode #4 -- Barack goes to Iran. Tells them to get rid of their nuclear weapons, they spit in his face.

Episode #5 -- Barack Obama asks Russia for help.

Russia? Are you freaking kidding me?! Barack Obama goes to Russia and asks them for help with Iran.

'If you help us with Iran, we'll get rid of our missiles in Poland." Are you freaking kidding me?! We're the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. We're the strongest country in the freaking world and you're asking freaking Russia for help?!! Are you kidding me?

When are you people who voted for this freaking guy gonna finally stand up and admit you made a HUGE mistake?

And if your a freaking kid and your parents are still riding around with a Barack Obama bumper sticker on their freaking car. I'd be embarrassed! I'd WALK everywhere I had to go. The only thing Barack Obama and his supporters are going to accomplish is to get rid of childhood obesity at this freaking rate.

Would you people wake up! Land of the free? Home of the brave? We used to be the land of the free. We used to be the home of the brave.

Now we're the land of the stupid. Home of the freaking SCREWED!

Change?! Change?! I keep hearing about it. When is it coming?! When is the "Anointed One" gonna wave his magic wand and bring all this freaking change? Cause so far I've seen NOTHING! Absolutely freaking NOTHING!!

"Going Galt": America's Wealth Producers Vs. Wealth Redistributors

While they take to the streets politically, untold numbers of America's wealth producers are going on strike financially. Dr. Helen Smith, a Tennessee forensic psychologist and political blogger, dubbed the phenomenon "Going Galt" last fall. It's a reference to the famed Ayn Rand novel "Atlas Shrugged," in which protagonist John Galt leads the entrepreneurial class to cease productive activities in order to starve the government of revenue.

The perpetual Borrow-Spend-Panic-Repeat machine in Washington depends on the capitulation of the wealth producers. There's only one monkey wrench that can stop the redistributionist thieves' engine. It's engraved with the word: Enough.

As you might imagine, the 5% (the taxable "rich") are trying to figure out how to become a part of the 95% (the "tax cut" rest):

In the wake of Obama's tax proposal being unveiled, some Americans are doing everything they can think of to fall beneath the $250,000 mark so they don't have to pay more in taxes under the plan.

A 63-year-old attorney based in Lafayette, La., "We have to find a way out where we can make just what we need to just under the line so we can benefit from Obama's tax plan

"Why kill yourself working if you're going to give it all away to people who aren't working as hard?"

Dr. Sharon Poczatek, who runs her own dental practice in Boulder, Colo., said that she too is trying to figure out ways to get out of paying the taxes proposed in Obama's plan.

"It would mean working fewer days which means having fewer employees, seeing fewer patients and taking time off."

"The motivation for a lot of people like me – dentists, entrepreneurs, lawyers – is that the more you work the more money you make," said Poczatek.

"But if I'm going to be working just to give it back to the government -- it's de-motivating and demoralizing." Other wise Fuck that SHIT………..

Other comments:

"I have frozen hiring in my firm. … No investments will be made in taxable accounts -- only 401k/IRAs. I am buying silver and gold instead of CDs or stocks with non-qualified money and savings. I have stopped taking new clients, thus freezing my income. I barter more and more. Spend less. I stopped leveraging assets (don't borrow)."

"I have cut WAY back -- I'm no longer buying retail, driving out of a 10-mile radius, spending money on eating out or putting my money in a savings account. I am using the money to pay off all of our debt. It has made our family closer, more appreciative."

Another blogger wrote: "Last year my family paid nearly $1,000 a month in federal taxes, and we are not by any stretch of the imagination rich. I'm going to make it my business to cut that amount in half, using every legal means possible and reducing my income so there is less to tax."

Barack Obama is pouring billions more down the sinkholes. It isn’t just the camel’s back that’s broken. His neck and four legs have all snapped, too.

Michelle Malkin

Obama Stiffing Chicago for almost $2 million?

Topics in today's show: President Obama still owes the city of Chicago money.

The Democratic National Committee has still not paid Chicago for the cost of Barack Obama's election night rally in Grant Park.

Chicago has yet to recoup the $1.74 million cost of President Obama's victory celebration in Grant Park -- despite a burgeoning $50.5 million budget shortfall that threatens more layoffs and union concessions.

The city spent $1 million on police protection for the rally. The Office of Emergency Management and Communications racked up more than $120,000 in expenses, including $19,500 paid to police official Neil Sullivan to quarterback election night logistics.

In late October, Mayor Daley assured that the cash-flush Obama campaign would reimburse the city for every penny spent on the rally. "We have a financial crisis," he said at the time. "The City of Chicago could not afford $2 million on this because we're gonna be laying off people, cutting back. That [cost] would really be unfortunate. . . . It's a huge cost to the City of Chicago.

"This is not a presidential visit. . . . This is a political event, and they've agreed to pay for all those services -- all the expenses of that. ...

It's costly, but they raised quite a bit of money. There's no [shortage] of money in that campaign."

The day after the Nov. 4 election, Daley was asked again whether the Obama campaign would pay up.

"Yeah. I don't know why you're so negative. ... What is this? He just won for president, and you say, 'He's not gonna pay his bills,' " the mayor said then.

I held this thinking they might pay up, ……..Not yet……:icon_scra

Obama’s Latest Marathon White House talkfest -- “Mischaraterization of Data”

Obama’s kicking off his health care reform today in the worst possible way

“The cost of health care now causes a bankruptcy in America every thirty seconds," Obama said at the opening of his White House forum on health care reform.

The problem: That claim, based on a 2001 survey, is simply unsupportable.

Fact-check.org has noted that even using Harvard’s numbers, it’s more like a bankruptcy every minute; indeed if you add up all bankrputcies in a year you barely get one every 30 seconds.

The figure comes from a 2005 Harvard University study saying that 54 percent of bankruptcies in 2001 were caused by health expenses. We reviewed it internally and knocked it down at the time; an academic reviewer did the same in 2006. Recalculating Harvard’s own data, he came up with a far lower figure – 17 percent.

A more recent study by another group, approaching it another way, indicates that in 2007 about eight-tenths of one percent of Americans lived in families that filed for bankruptcy as a result of medical costs.

That rings a little less loudly than “one every 30 seconds.”
The extrapolation of Harvard’s data to “a bankruptcy every 30 seconds,” which Obama also mentioned in his address to a joint session of Congress last month, comes, per the White House, from a 2005 Washington Post op-ed by Prof. Elizabeth Warren, a co-author of the Harvard paper.

(I've e-mailed Warren for comment.) But more to the point is that the Harvard data are clearly inflated, or at best, mischaracterized

Democrat Pork Fest put on hold……………………:icon_thum

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid tried to force a vote by today rushing it thru but was unable to muster the 60th vote to force an end to debate on a $410 billion Omnibus budget bill.

Democrats last night had to delay final action until next week.

It was a victory for critics of the bill - mainly Republicans - who have hammered Democrats and the White House relentlessly in recent days over thousands of budget earmarks in the bill.

The cloture vote was supposed to have taken place Thursday night at 8:15 ET, but as the minutes ticked by without that vote starting, it became obvious there was something amiss.

Make the World Cold and Dark for Only $350 Trillion

Let's see, what will Obama throw our money at next?

Welfare? Just did that, although welfare is now called "tax cuts."

Socialized medicine? He just made a "down payment" of $634 billion.

I know, how about a $350 trillion space shield to deflect light from the sun:

Scientists claim they can fight global warming by firing trillions of mirrors into space to deflect the sun's rays forming a 100,000 square mile "sun shade".

According to astronomer Dr Roger Angel, at the University of Arizona, the trillions of mirrors would have to be fired one million miles above the earth using a huge cannon with a barrel of 0.6 miles across.

It's becoming clear why scientists play along with the global warming farce. No project is too wacky, pernicious, or overpriced to compete for funding so long as it's on behalf of the polar bears.

But we won't need to worry about the generation of electricity causing global warming, once we've deflected the sun's life-giving rays into outer space.

Right on. Judgmental assholes are just as bad self entitlement morons. I take that back. I like dumb people more than know it all assholes.

Punish? So you think youre being punished by helping some people that may be too old to work anymore? Helping people that no longer have a job because the company went under? Does lower class mean these people are inferior humans? Are you somehow better than them because you managed to be fortunate enough to get more money? Is everyone who has lots of money hard working? Does being rich mean you had to struggle to become so much of a better human being than all the rest? Does the god damn universe revolve around you and your fucking wallet? Youre more pathetic than any poor person I have ever met. Almost any "lower class" person on the street is likley to be a better person than you. Youre a horrible person IMO.

Maybe you’re not as bright as I thought you were mels……..:icon_scra

You know perfectly well that is not the type of person mentioned in all these rants about taking from the rich and giving to the poor.

No matter you will spin it your way and that’s your right I suppose.

But just as one example put this in your pipe and smoke it, then think again on what’s been said.

Michelle Obama serves food to D.C. poor and homeless, but...

These news photos were widely distributed across the country and even around the world.

It doesn't detract from the first lady's generous gesture or the real needs she seeks to highlight to ask two bothersome journalistic questions about these news photos:

If this unidentified meal recipient is too poor to buy his own food, how does he afford a cellphone?

And if he is homeless, where do they send the cellphone bills?

Small BIZ to Obama

Here is what business people do, or rather don’t do, while Obama goes too far with taxation: they stop.

They stop advertising.
They stop hiring.
They stop expanding.
They stop investing.
They stop risking.
They stop paying more taxes.
The stop earning.
They stop buying.

Screw the government, small business owners say, if I make the same amount of money whether I grow or not, why grow? Why, indeed. And worse, as the letter to the editor writer in the LA Times quoted by Michelle Malkin says:

I have no incentive to hire people or expand my business, because the more I make, the more President Obama will take to expand government. This discourages expansion of the private sector. It will backfire with disastrous consequences for all.

It is repulsive that Obama is being allowed to take this country backward by pickpocketing the very people who run the private sector through their energy, money and creativity.

A good chunk of the slow down right now is that businesses are frozen–and not in the credit way. Those who don’t need credit (can still get it) are sitting out of the game and sitting on their CASH

Meanwhile, President Obama and the DNC puts in place a stupid, demeaning distraction by going after Rush Limbaugh what a FUCKING JOKE…………:icon_salu

Oh and JFYI:

“Distinguished Citizens - Independence and Integrity”

"Selected for their expertise on many of the economic challenges we are facing and their ability to provide recommendations from outside the walls of the White House"

President Obama's newly named Economic Recovery Advisory Board includes a union executive who took the Fifth in a federal probe, a billionaire whose failed bank pioneered the subprime mortgage market, and deep-pocket donors ...

The board is headed by former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, whose only political contribution last year was $2,300 to Mr. Obama.

In all, 11 of the 16 board members donated or raised money for Democrats in the last election, according to a Washington Times review of campaign finance records.

In announcing the board's creation, Mr. Obama described its members as "distinguished citizens outside the government" who were qualified on the basis of achievement, experience, independence and integrity to "bring a diverse set of perspectives and voices from different parts of the country and different sectors of the economy to bear in the formulation and evaluation of economic policy."

Obama Received a $101,332.00 from AIG but so what...??

The two biggest Congressional recipients of bonuses from the A.I.G. are - Senators Chris Dodd and Senator Barack Obama.

The Obama administration is allowing AIG to bail out the rest of the world with your tax dollars, that’s OK though.

So by all means, the president is happy to have you railing at “evil” but relatively small potatoes AIG executive bonuses, as it points your outrage away from his own far more costly executive abuses.

And of course, the re-distributor-in-chief hopes you won’t notice where much of the rest of the AIG bailout cash is being spent.

People on the right and the left are looking at all this money being shoveled to banks friends of Timothy Geithner and Larry Summers ... and they're not seeing any accountability.

"They don't know where the money's going, they don't know how much is gone, and it's all nontransparent and extremely suspicious."

Senator Barack Obama received a $101,332 bonus from American International Group in the form of political contributions according to Opensecrets.org.

With the anger and rage that is being exhibited against A.I.G., perhaps the bonuses Obama and Dodd received from A.I.G. should be explained also?

The government has not yet issued specific rules on the bonus payments that will be allowed at companies that received aid under the government's Troubled Asset Relief Program.

This whole AIG fiasco, another politcal ploy— where the entire political class is suddenly screaming over bonuses paid to derivative traders in AIG’s financial-products division — is just a complete farce to throw you off the real problems..

What it really shows is how the government has completely bungled the AIG takeover.

Blame the Bush administration or the Obama administration whatever.

Just days earlier, President Obama signed an omnibus spending bill with $12.8 Billion in self-serving earmarks for legislators during the economic crisis.

How can the president and Congress lecture AIG? Don’t the earmarking hogs look like hypocrites?

[B]This shows once again, why the government shouldn’t run anything, because it cannot run anything.

Now that the Wall street Journal has revealed that A.I.G. paid bonuses of $1 million or more to 73 employees, it's time to ask if recipients of A.I.G. "bonuses," including Barrack Hussein Obama and Chris Dodd will give what now ought to be taxpayer money back?

"For the first time since 1996, the federal government would begin paying states bonuses to increase their welfare caseloads," noted Heritage Foundation scholars Robert Rector and Katherine Bradley in an analysis released last month.

Rector and Bradley found that in the first year welfare spending will see its highest rise in history, an increase of more than 20% to exceed $600 billion.

The overall cost over the next decade is estimated to reach $1.34 trillion.

Loud Mouth, Lard Ass Murtha Accused Soldiers of Cold Blooded Murder

All cases have now been dismissed

The much-decorated and highly-respected former commander of the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment in Iraq had been set up to take the fall for gutless, politically-correct, sorry excuses for general officers - chief among them, Gen. James Mattis - who did his disgraceful best to send a better man than he to the Leavenworth DB.

Military judge Col. Steven Folsom was angry when he read his decision, "ruling without prejudice." The honorable Marine justice declared "unlawful command influence" had violated Lt. Col. Chessani's rights. Folsom dismissed all charges. The hacks on the prosecution team have yet to say if they plan to appeal the decision.

The big winner here is Chessani. The loser, in more ways than one, is the man who did his evil best to destroy a fellow Marine officer. James Mattis - once well-thought-of and respected in the Corps - seemed to morph into a man without honor as he pinned on his fourth star and took the witness stand to try and make sure Col. Chessani would be the "scapegoat" for the alleged "Haditha killings" in Iraq four years ago.

God bless the Thomas More Law Center of Ann Arbor, Mich. who led the charge against this obvious railroad job. Chessani wasn't even at the scene of the alleged murders when they occurred, but the mindless and "PC genuflecting" Marine top brass tried to hang him out to dry anyway.

They failed................:icon_salu

So DonXtc. You would rather America's money be spent on war. Killing other people in other countries because some people don't like them or think that freedom means doing what America wants them to do. Killing people because they have a commodity we want is not an option and I can't believe these douche bags are starting to try and justify this war again. The "Support the troops" mantra is BULLSHIT! I support people in the military but that does not mean I have to agree to why the government sent them there. Thats retarded. If they were shoving people into ovens I would not support it just because they have American troops doing it. Its high time to pull out of that region and let them handle it themselves. I can understand why the people there are mad at us for invading. I believe I would be mad at any country who tried to save me from Bush by occupying the country even though I think he was one of the biggest terrorists the world has seen in 60 years.

I also think its time that everyone in America should be fed and be able to get health care when they need it. Is WAR more important than taking care of our people? What the HELL? Is money more important to you than helping out your fellow man? That is fucked up! I can hardly believe the way you people think but I guess after 8 years I should be use to it. War loving terrorist assholes! Power to the people and fuck these war pig capitalist douche bags!

As usual you take everything out of context.

Don, I hate to break it to you, but there were some Repubs that received "bonuses" from AIG as well. I forgot their names, but they were prominently displayed on the Fox Business channel.

My point was not actually about the bonuses but the fact that Obama and Team acted so surprized about it when the story broke.

You know the I know Nothing crowd, that EDR that they use on the ignorant public.

Two Faced Liers: Obama, Geithner and Dodd Protected Bonuses, Now Wants Them Back

It appears that Obama knew all about those AIG bonuses - in time to do something about them and choose not too, until the story broke.

And how did he know?

Because his Tax Cheat Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told him about them - last Thursday, before AIG honchos disbursed $165 million in "retention" bonuses.

Took him long enough to catch on.

For the bonuses were public knowledge long before last week.

The Treasury Department knew of them last fall. So did the Federal Reserve.

At his town hall meeting in Costa Mesa, Calif., Wednesday evening, Obama compared embattled insurer AIG and other large failing banks to a suicide bomber.

Sometimes political movements become arrogant, insular, and dismissive of criticism. Obama and his supporters are showing early symptoms of this syndrome.

Barack Hussein Obama and his Leftist West Wing Lieutenants are playing on the world's largest stage, yet act as if no one is watching them when they contradict their campaign and promises.

Early Thursday evening, though, Democrats were at a loss to explain how and why the Dodd amendment was altered.

I know WHY………Much of the stimulus bill was rushed through Congress with little opportunity to read or study exactly what was in it, despite frequent GOP requests to do exactly that.

“Quite simply, the Tax Cheat Timothy Geithner experience has been a disaster, the Treasury Department is in disarray.”

The amendment was meant to restrict executive pay for bailed-out banks, but it also included the exception for "contractually obligated bonuses agreed on or before Feb. 11, 2009."

“We are a country of law; there are contracts. The government cannot just abrogate contracts.”

Come on, I want to hear you say what a good job Obama did by listening to both sides and making the right decision! I know youre not use to having a President who can do that!

I do not know how you/I could praise Obama when he had “NOT” done this at the time either of us posted our remarks.

If in fact Obama will not advance a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs for the treatment of troops injured in service, that is something he shuold have never even considerd to begin with, it is a good thing.

However, before you/I begin to praise him for “Doing Something,” in regards to this matter just remember he “Acutally did Nothing”.

Just more EDR to the dumb masses to make it appear as though something was done when in fact nothing has changed at all.

And you seem to have missed the 1st part of the report you quoted:

President Obama, after an uproar by veterans groups, has scrapped a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs for the treatment of troops injured in service.

So it was only under the pressure of these groups that he decided to drop this idea, yeah that’s doing something allright………..

I will give him credit for the increase in funding which by the way every president has done over the years, but I certainly wont praise him for not doing something he shouldn’t have to begin with..................:icon_salu

Fannie Mae plans bonuses of $1 Million for top executives; Freddie Mac has similar Plans

The two companies, which together own or back more than half of the home mortgages in the country, have been hobbled by skyrocketing loan defaults. Fannie recently requested $15 billion in federal aid, while Freddie has sought a total of almost $45 billion.

Fannie Mae disclosed its "broad-based" retention program in a recent regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company was only required to disclose the amounts for the top-paid executives, who will pocket at least $470,000 on top of their base salaries.

The bonuses are more than double last year's, which ranged from $200,000 to $260,000. Another round of bonuses ranging from $330,000 to $429,000 are planned for next February.

Fannie Mae said regulators determined that the bonuses were needed because keeping key employees "was essential to ensure our viability through 2010, which would allow Congress, the administration and other parties involved time to determine what the form and function of the company will be in future years."

The bonuses were authorized last year by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which seized control of Fannie and Freddie in September and ousted the companies' former CEOs

Step One

Obama and the Democrats pushed through and signed the Economic Stimulus Bill. It was written behind closed doors by Democratic leaders of the House and Senate.

….”Democrats decide to jettison a provision in the economic stimulus bill that would have revoked these (bonuses) or payments what have you in the 1st palce.”

Step Two

Dole out the funds under contracts and wide disaproval by the public. Let the bonuses be paid as agreed upon.

Step Three

Then let the news of it break and let the outrage begin.

Step Four

Obama says: "The buck stops with me." Comparing these company Exc’s. to Suicide Bombers.

Obama said he was stunned when he learned of the bonuses that bailed-out insurance giant AIG was paying its employees, and the payments raise moral end ethical problems.

This gives them the oppurtunity to hammer AIG and other companies as if they were “suicide bombers” making the appearance of going after the greedy, nasty, filthy rich Corps……………

Obama was most certainly correct saying “Moral end Ethical problems, but he pointed at the wrong folks.

Much of the government outrage at the bonuses was phony, canned up for a public now being taught that the private sector is evil and must be punished.

It is now known he and his democrat congress knew all about these bonuses well in advance, “ Every single Republican in the House voted against it, and all but three GOP Senators did.”

What's beginning to happen is Obama’s actions are starting to have consequences. And this is one of those. He hurried everybody through that process, and it's now Obama's actions that are causing things that people are unhappy about.

There's no way Obama can blame the stimulus, and its contents, on anyone other than himself.

Hey now, these guys are good........:icon_salu

What no Damn ACORN………??

The eight could each face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. I'm sure the Federal Bureau of Prisons can find room for them all…:icon_salu

Five officials allegedly used the County Election Board as a tool to corrupt elections between March 2002 and July 2007, according to an FBI indictment.

Circuit Court Judge Maricle and Elections Officer Stivers compiled a list of people who would sell their votes, and others in the scheme made arrangements to pay them.

All eight are charged with racketeering, and all except Adams and Bishop also face at least one other charge of conspiring to buy votes; some face additional charges, including Mail Fraud, Extortion and Obstruction of Justice.

Those indicted include;

R. Cletus Maricle, 65, who was a Circuit Judge from 1991 through July 2007 and is now a Senior Judge.

Schools Superintendent Douglas C. Adams, 57, who has held the office since 1999

County Clerk Freddy W. Thompson, 45, who won election in 2002

Charles Wayne Jones, 69, the County's Democratic Election Commissioner and William E. Stivers, 56, an Elections Officer

Three others were indicted with them: Paul E. Bishop, 60, an election officer, William B. Morris, 66 and Debra L. Morris, 49, who owns a local sanitation business.

Several once-prominent local officials have already gone to prison on charges of Extortion, Protecting a Drug Dealer, Arson and Money Laundering but the corruption continues.

The corruption investigation continues also, raising the potential for more charges.

Global Warmers, They Think You're Stupid

The BBC ran an article with the headline “Earth warming faster than thought.”

Yet, as we increasingly see in this context — and as damningly portrayed in Chapter 1 of Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud, and Deception to Keep You Misinformed, as the media's stock-in-trade, using headlines to lie to the folks who will never read the full article — the piece itself offers no evidence of any such thing.

It merely reveals claims of impacts that modelers project would result from a large warming — impacts greater than previously asserted by others, as is how things work when it comes to global warming.

These claims do not conflate with empirical temperature observations, which the record is clear are not greater in scope or rate than previously predicted.

Atmospheric temperature has not warmed in 15 years, even though computer models such as those relied upon for such sensational claims were wrong in predicting that they temperatures should have warmed steadily since.

It is inconceivable that reporters and editors are this regularly and ritually stupid.

They do this on purpose, not merely to sell copy, but to frighten you into accepting an agenda they have adopted — with revolutionary fervor, if very little substance — and hence the ruses and lies.

The prize was a T-Shirt with the slogan..............:drunken_s

Why shouldn't the GOP do the same thing with Barack Obama or better yet -- Harry Reid?

Why would Reid be even better than Barack Obama? Because Harry Reid is actually up for re-election in 2010 and is vulnerable.

Why not have a contest, get a slogan, and put it up on a billboard in his home town?

Then if it works, why not have a contest for Chris Dodd? How about John Murtha?

In fact, just to show these guys how it's done, I'd like RWN's readers to make some suggestions for a Barack Obama billboard. Imagine your slogan, 10 words or less, on a billboard.

I'll photoshop the best ones in place and we'll let everyone vote on the winner.

Joe the Plumber files suit against Ohio.................:icon_salu

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — "Joe the Plumber" is suing three former state officials in Ohio, saying they violated his privacy when they gathered his personal information in a records search.

"It is our contention that there is an open question whether Joe the Plumber was number one on Obama's enemies list," Fitton said, referring to the alleged White House enemies list including Rush Limbaugh.

"We already have evidence that government officials were misuisng government resources to, in our view, to try harm our client for speaking out against Mr. Obama."

"No American should be investigated for simply asking a question of a public official," Fitton said at the National Press Club.

"It is unconscionable that high ranking state officials pried into confidential government files in retaliation for Joe's exercise of his First Amendment rights."

Samuel J. Wurzelbacher says in the federal lawsuit filed Thursday that he suffered emotional distress, harassment, humiliation and embarrassment as a result of their actions. He's seeking unspecified punitive damages.

The lawsuit names Helen Jones-Kelley, who resigned in December as director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, and two assistants.

Jones-Kelley resigned last December in the wake of the controversy. Thompson had his job as ODJFS deputy director revoked and Williams, an assistant director, resigned.

1965: "The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs."

1986: "This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this."

2007: "Now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system."

Someone needs to be arrested for the 2000 and 2008 elections. I hope one day they finally admit to rigging those elections but it might undermine the whole election process. Sorry, I didn't read Donxtc's post because I know its stupid.

More Democrat Jail Sentences and Indictments...........13679

The Democrat Going to Jail is “Manny Aragon,” one of New Mexico's most powerful Democrat lawmakers.

Aragon was sentenced Tuesday to more than five years in prison, Aragon was also ordered to pay nearly $2 million in fines and restitution.

Aragon and seven other defendants stole a total of $4.2 Million by inflating invoices during a $82 Million project. Aragon admits that his take was more than $600,000.

More Democrats in New York are indicted on a 123-count indictment on Thursday.

Democratic consultant and state official Hank Morris and a top lieutenant to disgraced former New York Comptroller Alan Hevesi were indicted Thursday in a scheme to trade lucrative investments in the state pension fund for more than $30 Million in kickbacks, gifts and campaign contributions, the New York Post reported.

I wander do they have a Bonus System in place too...........:hi

The 123-count indictment by state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo charges that Morris used his access to the Comptroller's Office to direct more than $4 billion from the pension fund to private equity firms, venture-capital funds and businesses in exchange for bogus "placement fees" and other payoffs.

Plus for allegedly receiving $30 Million in kickbacks, as New York's attorney general accused them of using the state's pension fund investments as his own "piggy bank."

However never fear, "CHANGE" is a comin……………..:icon_thum

It’s a cold evening in the nation's capital, but the guests at a local cocktail party hardly feel the winter chill, remember Obama has the thermostat turned up..

Amid the low symphony of glasses clinking and a dull hum of chatter, men and women mill about, likely dining on the finest finger foods that catering has to offer.

It’s Wednesday night at the White House, and the era of the cocktail party has returned.

Damn, I went to Vegas the wrong week, lots of good juicy Democrat news I missed, but I'm catching up and will get you up to date on it...................:icon_rr:

Like all the other shit it is coming back to bite them in the ass.
Correction, bite the public in the ass.

Predator drone attacks in northwest Pakistan have increased sharply since Bush last year stopped seeking Pakistan's permission. Obama may keep pace as officials speak of confusion in Al Qaeda ranks.

The stepped-up Predator campaign has killed at least nine senior Al Qaeda leaders and dozens of lower-ranking operatives, in what U.S. officials described as the most serious disruption of the terrorist network since 2001.

Geitner is scaring me with him wanting broad power to control the institutions, mostly banks, that the government bailed out. Sounds too familiar with other countries that did the same...

Call it socialism, nationalism, progressivism, or fascism (the digital brownshirts legislation and organizing for America issues surely make a good case, as well,) but, whatever you call it, it should cause serious concern.

The Obama administration is considering asking Congress to give the Treasury secretary this unprecedented powers.

This, after their bungling in the banking industry has turned out to be a complete disaster……………………..

So far, all we've seen from the Obama administration are stunning incompetence, the highest deficits since World War 2, and a lust for power that is more reminiscent of a South American dictator than an American President.

I don't care what their reasoning is, what lame excuses they make up, or how they justify it, under no circumstances imaginable should this insane power grab be allowed to occur. Obama is absolutely out of control and unless Congress puts the brakes on hard, he is going to decimate the economic future of our country with his statist, Leninesque blundering.

So the US thinks that it's a bad idea to declare water as a human right. :\

Canada and the United States have been the strongest opponents of the human right to water at the UN, though U.S. President Barak Obama may be poised to reverse this stance.

But are not the only ones either, find out Y here.....

Sorry not from the republican party will you see any change. Just the same old obstructionist crap and the BS that they have a better way but when questioned on what it is they have no details at all.
Oh and most of all giving big buisness a free hand to do what ever it wants even if it wrecks the economy.

You may not agree with what they do and say, but I find it hard to find any Republicans being sent to Prison and being Indicted on charges.............:icon_salu

But are still seeing reports nearly every day by the Lame Stream Media that omit the "Democrat" in any story involving criminal Democrats.

Here's a few more criminals for you............:drunken_s
