Unsharing shared folders

Hi, i am using KaZaaLite 2.0.2, and I cant unshare a folder that is in another folder that i am sharing. When I go into folder list, i can uncheck the folder, and click OK, but then I go back in and it has re-shared it! Any ideas how I can get it to really not share this folder?

i tried that too, it keeps re-sharing the file :(
is there a file in the kazaa folder that is a master list of shared directories that i can just edit manually?

Theres a few ways to get around this. One way to solve that issuse is to delete the Db files in the KaZaA Lite directory as it stores all of your info of shared items on there as well as a lot of other 'hidden' goodies too. Open up KaZaA, un-check what you don't want, hit enter, then exit. Go to your KaZaA directory & delete the Db files inside it. It'll say something like "data1024.dbb". Delete all of those, then run KaZaA again, go back to the Folder List & check to see if anything is checked that you don't want. If not, then you can go ahead & check off the folders you do want to share.

Antother way to do it (although I don't recommend it for beginners) is to go through your registry & delete the shared settings on there.
Go to Start -> Run -> type in regedit -> hit Enter
Scroll down to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kazaa\LocalContent
On the right-hand side of the window, right click on "Dir0" "Dir1" "Dir2" or whatever is shown, & delete them. Then you can go ahead with deleting the Db files, run KaZaA, & going back to the Folder List.

ok, so i tried deleting the .db files - no joy
ditto the registry edit, ditto deleting the whole kazaa registry key.
So, I uninstalled and reinstalled Kazaa (gulp!) and it has unshared all the directories! Yay! So then I re-select the directories I want it to share (not the one I dont), apply, ok, go back in, and IT HAS RE-SHARED THE FOLDER! So, I am giving up on this :) I'm just gonna move the folder to another place on the disc :)

Once you install KaZaA, the only folder that gets selected automatically should be the 'My Shared Folder' (unfortunately), if that's what you're talking about. It's the only folder that you can not de-select. There's nothing you can do about that.

no, its a folder on my second hard drive
d:\media\episodes\xme
\episodes contains 6 folders, all of which I want to share except the xme folder, but it won't let me :)

Okay....I got what you mean. You can also try this:
Right-click on the items that you don't want to share, & select 'Stop Sharing'. See if that works, otherwise, I don't know what else to tell you, bro. Maybe try yelling at your screen to see if that helps any! Works wonders for me!:shy
