A friend of mine has been going ape shit wanting to go see this movie and he knows I have been a Jack B fan for many many years so he has been bothering me constantly about wanting to go see it. He thinks the TV ads are hilarious but to me it doesn't look funny one bit. I think if a movie has trouble finding 30 seconds of funny for the trailer then the rest of the hour and a half+ movie is gonna suck. Its seems my instincts were right this time because the reviews are in and its getting slammed. This friend of mine is always crazy about dumb movies just because he likes the people who are in a film. Some cheesy stupid movies I love because there is a such thing as good cheese but this friend needs to learn to be objective and honest with himself and stop telling people movies are fantastic there-by making them waste their time and money on SHIT! To all the people out there who do this to their friends: STOP IT!

There was one scene of Year One that I slightly smiled at but that is just sad! Judd Apatow has really lost it. I don't know why he has went South but I have a feeling he must be doing Scarface portions of drugs. His Tv Venture "Freaks and Geeks" remains one of my favorite shows ever and it "freaks" me out to see him become such a pathetic loser now that he has nothing but opportunity and money to do whatever his heart desires.

The cast of year one is like a whos who of hip comedic Hollywood but none of them can save themselves when the script is pure rubbish! Judd Apatow - you are not officially off my cool list...YOU SUCK!!!! [Man I hope he reads this because I want nothing more than for him to come back and prove me wrong]

I was reading some of the reviews last night and in summation a lot of jokes and humour seems to be recycled from the first ten minutes of the movie. I was planning to take my kids to see it but not sure if i want to spend the money on this.
I love jack Black also and my favorite is Nacho Libre and The School of Rock.

I would NOT take kids to see this one. I hear its very lewd and crude. Lots of dirty sex jokes and of course poop jokes. The kids might enjoy the poop jokes but they won't be using the word "poop" in the film. If you have not taken them to see "UP" go for that one.

Do you guys like that whole acting style Michael Cera relies on?

It work on some shows but his acting ability is VERY lmited at best. I really like the lad but I do not know how far his acting will take him. I can see a TV show career in his future.

But then again, 30 years ago I would have said Robert Downey Jr's acting was crap and that he would NEVER make it. Now look at that guy... He once sucked big time.

Being a great comedian requires a great deal of intellectual prowess which many tend to fall into and never rise again. The audience today is looking for an edge which many can not deliver.
Cheap humour can only go so far.

I like how something like this gets a thread (attention), but a blockbuster like the new Transformers ($400+ million) gets swept under the carpet.

So has anyone watched Year One yet (or did all or most of you blow it on Transformers)?

How long until a biographical movie for MJ gets made?

won't watch any of the jackson bioflicks that will soon break out faster than zits on a 15-yr. old.
