I just got a *.ogm file... And I need to know what player or plugin I can use to play this video file. I have windvd and powerdvd so a plugin for either of those would work for me. Though I would prefer win dvd. Oh ya and I did go to the ogg site but they don't seem to have a player their.

try opening it in mplayer2? you should try and get the vorbis directshow filters too. (since it mostly likely uses vorbis for audio) here's a magnet link for it. magnet:?xt=urn:bitprint:QLQKAO4I7ETUA6TBEBQVMVLAQF PWCNAX.B5RBB625RWGVB5Y53L45MPB3P255IO6GCDTV57Q&dn=OggDS0995.exe

from the site below, i learned that .ogm is a divx file with the audio encoded in .ogg

sorry though, no codec..... just some info.....

edit: i read that all you have to do is rename the extention (.ogm) to .avi

hope that works.... if not, ill see what else i can do.

edit #2: if the above does not work, try downloading the codecs on this page:

Ok I found a player the works... So since I started this thread I mise well let anyone who is reading it in on what I found. The player is called NV DVD and you can get it on nvidia's web site. You need the newest version (2.22) I tried an older version and it didn't work with *.ogm files.

Also the quality of the *.ogm file with this dvd player is the best I've ever seen. Very sharp no fuzzness.

OGM files CAN be mutli streamed....

So you get.....

OGG for audio - more then one stream can be there.
DivX for video - yet again more then one stream CAN be used.

Also you can have subtitles/menus/multiple angles along with endings/ect.

So my advice is to nab the direct show filters and use WMP 6.4 since the newer versions along with almost all other players can't handle the multiple streams. So you miss out on all the DVD-ish features.
