Okay guys...I have become tired of posting my questions all over the place all the time and you guys may have noticed I often have random questions. Most of the time I will be just thinking about some random thing and want an answer and do not really know what to search for to find the answer. Maybe there are others out there as well who have this same problem. Well now we have a random question thread [ ABOUT PC PROBLEMS PLEASE] and I plan to fill this thread with more post than the sexxxy spam thread!
First off...
I was wondering what I should do about my old style ide cables in my newish computer I have obtained. I want to buy a new SSD hard drive for it. Would I just have to buy a new SATA cable and everything be okay? Tell me now! I MUST KNOW because I am about to pre order one of these buggers so I can pick it up when I get paid on Friday. HELP!

That depends, since you are acting like a noob and being unspecific I have to give you a general answer.
I'll break it down for you
Power supply has Sata power
Motherboard supports Sata
Buy Sata ssd and connect it using sata cable
Power supply does not have sata
Motherboard supports Sata
Buy sata ssd, sata cable, and power supply adapter
Nothing is compatible
But an ide drive, or buy a bunch of consion cables.

Sorry. I have a power supply that will work. I was just wondering If I replaced the ide cable with a sata cable if it would be okay.
EDIT: BTW, doesnt really matter anyway. I found an IDE converter adapter so its all good.

I don't know what the deal is, but in windows 7, they open in IE instead of Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.

I installed Windows XP Black. Now when I try and open a Gif I get an error that says gif is not a valid win32 application.
Oh well, I guess I am off to take a chance with Google....

Jezzz. One more post. I guess its worked out. I put the program on my master hd and then it seems to work. I can not, however, just click on a pic and have it open up with the program. I have to open the program and then the pic or open it with iE. Go figure that one out...

So you can't change the default app to open the gif with Jasc??? For some reason I recall having a similar problem, I can't for the life of me figure out how I fixed it. Did you check in control panel - default programs or something like that. There is a place where you can set the default program to open your filetypes.
