Yes! Comedy Central have ordered two new seasons of Matt Groening’s hilarious ‘Futurama’ after solid rerun ratings and decent sales of the recent straight-to-DVD adventures.

Bender is back! “Futurama” creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen are working on the new series as we speak, with an estimated spring 2010 air date.
We have wonder-network “Comedy Central” to thank for the resurrection of this cult show. They were happy with the purchase of the rights to air the original episodes of the show, which performed decently, and feel that new episodes (26 in total, to start with) will not only reinvigorate the core fans of the show, but will also bring in new fans of the series.
The four feature-length original “Futurama” specials: “Bender’s Big Score,” “The Beast With a Billion Backs,” “Bender’s Game” and “Into the Wild Green Yonder,” have performed well on DVD and ratings-wise on Comedy Central.
Reuters also report that all of the original voice cast members are expected to return for the new episodes, along with the core writing team. The episodes are expected to continue on from the end of “Into the Wild Green Yonder”.
We will keep you updated with the latest news on the new episodes as it becomes available.

This is AWESOME! I can't help but feel I took part in the resurrection of the show by buying all the DVDs. Money talks, and it feels good.

Ah, so who is the bigger Futurama fan then? The one with the Fry avatar, or the one who paid for his DVDs and broke the forum rules to prove his fandom?

Supporting Futurama with your money sure says ALOT in my book! I am a HUGE advocate for people supporting the things they like with their money as I have stated many times. I am not says YWD is a cheap bastard but many people are these days since they can get everything for free and these people will make any flimsy excuse as to why they do not pay for DVD's, video games and music. I don't really care for how the music industry is ran but video game companies do try to make happy customers and now days DVD's usually have little extras for incentives to encourage a purchase....so, if you are a fan and want more of these things you love stop being a cheap whore and BUY! Your local store owner will thank you too! :thanks:

if it's something i really want and really love i'll go out and buy it rather than suffer through a version with inferior quality.... plus i like all the easter eggs and extras, i'm such a geek.

Oh so it's a Futurama "Walk'en Off" you want huh.
I have purchased (or recieved as a gift) all five seasons of the original series. (Even have one VHS from when it first came out.) I have purchased two of the movies.
I have the Playstaion II Futurama video game (Fathers Day Gift several years ago) a Bender watch, beer mugs, figures magnetic dart board game etc.
If they would have had a condom I would have bought that and screwed the wife with it.
I have tried to get my wife to change her name to Leela.
The only thngs not purchased is my homemade gif avitar and mp3 ringtone I made for my phone.
Christ I bet half of Max G. income over the last six years came out of my wallet. I should own half the rights to the show by now.
SO KISS MY SHINY METAL ASS MEATBAGS!

I did not know there was a Futurama video game. Are you sure you did not come back from the future with that game? I have never seen it...but actually I would not unless they show an ad on TV which I must have missed. Was it any good? Did bender drink a lot of booze?

You doubt the father of Fry? It came out in 2003 or 2004 for the PS2 only. My oldest boy more or less took it over and traded it in a few years ago.
Hell there is a clip of the game on YouTube under Futurama PS2.
I am sure there a few on eBay for sale as well.
You must have missed it when you headed out to try and find your home planet.

Ok you win, but I did download the game and the tv show. I would buy the series if it was reasonably priced. Every time I see it, it's about 3x more expensive than it is worth for me.

Just another show Fox killed prematurely for god knows what I'll conceived strategy. No wonder I never watch Fox anymore, anything good that ever came from the studio was killed off. Futurama, Familly guy, Malcom in the Middle, etc...

Fox put Futurama in the 7PM Sunday slot and it was never on more then two or three weeks in a row before it was preempted by the FOX Sunday Night NFL game and then in the spring and summer it was MLB.
I remember when the Flinstones aired in the 60's the new season episodes started in the fall and there was one episode every week for 12 to 13 weeks with out fail.
In the early 70's another adult oriented animated show was on Friday nights on NBC I think.
It was called "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" and aired around 8PM. It was basically a cartoon version of Archie Bunker.
It was on ever Friday (only for two seasons) for 13 weeks as well.
Over the last 5 or 6 years you have been lucky to see the Simpsons on Sunday night for just two weeks in a row before another 3 weeks would pass before another episode aired.
But by god you will not see one skipped week of Survivor Skank, Dancing with Homo's or any other supposed reality show.
