kazzaa problem

I don't know how common this is, but I'm having a problem with how my file sharing is configured.Basically, everything on my computer(every bell and whistle in windows-sounds,pics,files etc..)is showing as "my kazzaa lite". Obviously, this aint good,
but I'm having a hard time correcting it.As things stand, I'm sharing over 1000 files, although there are really only about 5-6
items worth anyones while...I've only been a member for a week or so. Anyone???

Did by any chance use the wizard that searches you computer for all the folders containing files that can be accessable to all other kazalite users from the kazaalite file import window (click on filefolder pic with an arrow on it)? This option scans for files on your computer that can be shared on Kazaa and adds them to your share folder (in kazaalite)

Also you can click on the "folder list" button in same window (kazaalite filefolder import window) to see which folders are selected for sharing. From here you can uncheck the folders you don't want to share. Its sounds like you might be have your entire hard drive or a good portion of it clicked checked as a share folder.

Hi. Thanx for the quick reply.
I went into the folder list and clicked on the de-select all button-
(the C drive WAS selected,although I dont recall doing so)
but it still says I'm sharing 512 files.
I tried the media search option just to see if that would help
reconfigure things, but it didn't help. I sure dont need to share
ANYTHING ELSE....I dont know what the problem is.

try restarting kazaa and then look and see if your still sharing files. Also I just noticed that when you stop sharing a file it takes 5-10 minutes for effects to take place so it might seem that your're sharing when look at bottom screen.
If nothing else works goto to my kazaalite window, click files you don't want to share (right click) and select stop sharing.

It can be real hard too explain how to switch this back. You are best off to uninstall and reinstall agan and cancel the folder wizard when it shows up. put all your files in your shared folfer by drag&drop, if you only have 5 or 6.

I removed all of my dat files and other music files to a temporary folder, uninstalled and reinstalled. Then I moved the files back. It picked up where it left off.

It was wierd when it loaded EVERYTHING in my computer & I'm sure I didn't opt for it to do that.
