XP Start Menu Icons

Hey, this is really wierd. I rebooted and when I hit the start button I realized that the My Music, and My Pictures icon's were all screwed up, does anyone know how to fix it so they go back to normal?

Try this and see if it works. I have never had to use it but i saved it when i heard other people had icon probs with XP.

It didnt work. That tweak is for when ur icons go back to 16bit icons instead of 32 bit ones, I need sumthing that'll replace the icons back to the XP deafults. Anyone got any ideas???

Yep, happens a lot for me, just go here (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp) , and then download the TweakUI program, after its installed, go to the last tab, it should have the rebuild icon library thingy, try that

I'm almost possitive that will work, if it doesnt, there are a few proggys I use to completely change the icons...but they're a pain in the ass

I've already tried doing that, clearing the icon cache thru X-Setup, deleting the folders and then recreating them, but nothing works! Compared to what I've already done, those programs can't be that annoying.

This is driving me nuts, after looking on google for 20min, I still can't find the program I REALLY LIKED, and unfortunately I didnt save a copy like I usually do...anyway, if I find it, I'll let you know, in the mean time, try the first one (x-icon), it is simple and works, you just have to have the icon handy

If you just want them to go back to default just right click on the desktop and go to properties > desktop > customize desktop > and click the restore defaults button. it should work. you can also, if you dont want the default or doesnt work, go to microsofts site and find the new themes for Xp and get one of those it will auto change you icons to fit the new theme, then just cahge it back and it should be fine.
