I was wondering what prog everyone uses to record streaming audio as there is now a lot of programs out there, I have been using Total Recorder for ages, as it was one of the first I ever heard about but I was wondering if anyone thought any of the new recorders were better and one that I should trade in my old trusty Total Recorder for?

I used StreamBox VCR a while back and it worked well. However, I have no idea how to use it to record the music on
MMJB MX Platinum. I know MMJB isn't the best program, but the
Artist on demand feature on MX platinum is great. Good quality music, and the selection is good. But, there is no file to capture which in turn allows you to dl the music itsself. Does TotalRecorder allow you to dl this type of audio?

StreamBox VCR for video stuff...

RipCast for MP3s from ShoutCast & Live365

Yeh, you can record anything using sound Recorder and similar programs as it records whatever is playing on your sound card. You can then save the files to mp3. Also, it removes any translation gaps (you know when you internet connect slows down too much a music stops for a couple of secs midway through a song)

This is to say thanks to TFoS_Fan and method for the info on recording the audio I mentioned. I'll probably try both and see which I like better.

Glad to help, NightsMaster, hey Total recorder is great, but do try others that have recently been made. That's what I was asking in this forum, what one is the best. If you go to www.downloads.com and search for streaming audio you should find them. Please report back to this thread if you find any gems.

I use Cool Edit 2000. It is not free but it works very well. You can get more info at www.syntrillium.com/ Hope this helps.
