Okay, so I was looking for this album "betty pickup" by a band called muzzle. which, if you haven't heard might change your life. (I'd probably put the song what a bore in one of my all time favorite songs)
I've been loooking for it since like... 2003. yeah yeah not napster era but shit. this is driving me up the wall. I don't want to have to order it online but I might have to.
listen to free trampoline/what a bore here: http://www.rhapsody.com/muzzle/betty-pickup but aside from a DRM'd crap copy, I want this album. :(
obv you can't link me, so to make this a legit thread, what has been killing you that you can't find for your life?

Personally I thought Audiogalaxy exceeded Napster, but that might just be me. Anyway, try as I might, I could never find this song on a file sharing network, only ever found it on youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSsJ19sy3JI)

1st, you suck k-hawk.
2nd, youtube and imeem are pretty good for dredging up stuff, especially if you know how to dig the files off of the site.

I use a Firefox extension called DownloadHelper, and you could "preview" the mp3s via this methodology. Unfortunately, they are 64kbps and 24000 Hz.
Other than that, you are out of luck, It seems.

It's funny, I read this thread and I thought of this song by a Canadian band in the early 70's. The band was called Lisle and the song, "Shelly Made Me Smile". I never could find it. I only liked it because I had a crush on this girl, Shelly, in my school. I never could find it...until now. This thread made me look, so I googled it and found it.

tuneage and pitchfork offer some good listening alternatives (no downloads), and a lot of what they offer is hard to find. oh well, at least you can stream it.
