You thought that music piracy was a product of modern times, didn’t you? Have a look at the image below (and the original PDF linked at the bottom) for a New York Times article from June, 1897 discussing music piracy - of course the perpetrators were Canadian.

112 years later, they are still bitching and still not dead from the "losses"

I'm surprised at the term "piracy" being used. I thought that originated somewhat recently.

wtf? I used to record all my albums in the seventies on the cassette. Wasn't as easy as d/l and burning but at one point I had over 600 cassettes. It takes me back to my trusty Dual 604 and a Teac deck. :sadwavey:
