It always seems there are great movies that people, even movie buffs, just never get around to watching for one reason or another. Lets hear about your Unicorn.
For some reason that I can't explain I have never watched Escape From New York.
I actually saw a small portion of it once but for some reason I did not watch it. I plan on fixing this soon but this movie seems to always slip away from me no matter what I do or plan. I know it must be good and I know a great deal about the film but have never seen it.
I will let you guys know when I do watch it...hopefully late tonight!

Wow, it's hard to believe you haven't seen Snake "I heard you were dead" Plisken hang out with the Duke, Cabbie, Maggie (Brain's squeeze) or the President.
Don't get Munsoned from watching this.
It's one of the classics of classics.

Crazy aint it! Its one of the must see of my generation and here I am like a social retard, missing out. Check this out...I also have never watched all of Blade Runner! I think I should watch both of these back to back. I have a Hi Def version of Blade Runner too. Sounds like a most excellent night at the movies. To think, today kids get Fast and Furious and jizz in their pants. Back in the day we might not of had fancy smacy CGI but we sure as Hell had some killer fucking movies! ( I HOPE!)
WHats a movie you have missed Pooter? I know there has to be one!

I liked that one. One of the best endings I know of. Don't read about it just watch it. Its very good. Nothing like a road trip movie with girls gone bad!:yeah::ok:

Saving Private Ryan. Heard a lot about it.
:pat:That was on cable (FX I think ) last night and I watched about an hour of it. Ive seen it before. Really good movie with a lot of people that went on to be stars. I had forgot it has Vin Diesel in it though. :pat:
I don't care for too many war movies but this is one I like. I wonder how great the new Quintin Tarantino War movie will be. In has one section in the middle that I heard described as a mini Reservoir Dogs set in a World War 2 bar. Its like 23 minutes long I think. The entire movie is going to be long as Hell. Not sure how long but unless they divided the script up into more than one movie or cut a lot out it will be well over 3 hours long. QT has been working on this film for about 10 years so my hopes are high.
The script has been handed around the QT fan site for a long time now but I refused to read it. I even told everyone there that I wasn't coming back until the movie was released because they talk about it too much. Ive made one post there in the last 4 months. To me reading a QT script spoils the surprises you know he is gonna pull and I want to go in without any expectations. I can't wait. Jews kicking ass? Cool! Adam Sandler was gonna be in as he is friends with the QT but I don't know what happened. ACtually I think QT did well with this cast. He went back to hiring many almost unknown actors mixed in with a few who need a comeback ( Mike Myers) and at least one super star ( Brad Pitt). Me is excited!!! :notworthy:

BTW, while I am talking about this movie (Inglourious Basterds) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361748/) The title is sorta misleading, as is the preview. From what I do know about the film. The men on a mission part is just one segment. While it is connected to the rest of the film its not what the film is totally about. The previews mostly only show shots from the one chapter with very quick snips of the other parts. People either will be very surprised when they see it or very pissed off. I think the former is more likely.

Not sure that they were really that great, I have my doubts but here is my list.
Passion of Christ
Broke Back Mountain
Notebook
An Inconvenient Truth (Although for some odd reason I've been called an Al Gore soldier on occasion, strange considering I've never followed any of his work on the climate change debate)
Spiderman 2
Spiderman 3
New Godzilla
Shawshank redemption
Godfather 1
Godfather 2
Starwars 2
Starwars 3
Shindlers List
2nd LOTR and most of the 3rd movies
Matrix 2 and Matrix 3
A ton of horror movies I've never seen, probably a bunch of others. Just don't seem all that much into movies.

Definitely. You haven't lived till you've seen Ernest Borgnine throw Molotov cocktails out the window of a cab.
I haven't seen Donnie Darko. I hear it's a must see.

I love Donnie Darko but its a love or hate type movie. If you like movies about time travel you will like it. Some people have a hard time making sense of it and that is why they don't like it. You have to think and people HATE to think.

holy shit MR, you are missing some classics! Spiderman 2 was one of my favorite superhero movies.
There are some movies that I can't think of off the top of my head that are embarassing that I've never seen. Godfather is some of them.
I know I've not seen Predator. Until this last year, I had not seen Die Hard or Aliens. I finally got to watch Soylent Green a month or so back. Damn, I can only think of the ones that I hadn't watched, and now have.

And you know what? I HATE over half of the movie Scarface, and Tony Montana is a schizo paranoid fuck.
No Deer Hunter, no Midnight Cowboy, no Apocalypse Now.

Heat will make you wonder why Val Kilmer got fat and disappeared.
Donnie Darko is cool and whatnot, it's just murderously slow.
American History X was a pretty bad ass flick. Who knew Edward Norton could be scary?
Only seen bits and pieces of Dune myself. Not even interested in finishing it.
Fell asleep trying to watch Westworld. James Brolin without a beard? Come on, that's like trimming the mane off of Samson.

Star wars! (and it's dozen or so sequels) I've seen bits and pieces and even sat down with the earnest intention of watching it from start to finish, but somehow I just couldn't get into it, something to do with the characters maybe - a stupid hunk of metal that communicates in chirping noises, a dude in a blatantly fake monster suit and a big eared dwarf that chops sentences up and says everything back to front. All highly irritating. Then there's the blatantly plasticy sets, the lameass weapons and don't forget the non-stop deluge of corporate-driven marketing garbage. That, and the fact the whole thing is 20 hours long was probably enough to put me off forever.

To be fair, Star Wars does suck. I read an article once saying why even Star Wars fans hate Star Wars. What is good about it is what is implied in its endless universe. That and Jedis.
Seriously, if Jedi was a character class in more games, I would always play as that. I don't care if there is a lightsaber at all. They just have a perfect combination of ninja melee combat and utility-type magic. Screw you fighters/paladins/barbarians/mages.
EDIT: That reminds me. There was this guy sitting next to me at work once that impulsively would deny that he saw Star Wars. Every time some one inadvertently made a Star Wars reference, he would say "what?"

Hey that's one of my dads favorite movies. Apparently that hill billy was a cameraman's son. He was just on set while filming and the director saw him and thought he was perfect and ask if he wanted to be in the movie. Wonder what went through his head when he was asked to play and inbred hill billy because he had the right look?
