Laser printer help?

I've owned two in my life one old ass txt only HP and a fairly current magicolor 2300

I recently refilled my 4 toner carts and seem to have fuser problems

the image belt deal is showing a proper clean image but once it hits the paper spews the page out and all I'm stuck with a faint mix of each color and a shitload of wasted toner scraped 'n pushed into it's waste container

I figure it's the heating drum that fuses it all to the paper before doing a clean scrape and toss to the waste bin

any laser printer guru's with any ideas? I have the service manual and am able to gut the thing if need be DIY style but I'd like some advice from folks who have worked with more than 2 and understand it's process dispite the brand or model

I'm guessing it's the fuse drum's lamp thats failing but I can't afford a replacement off shelf so if anyone has any ideas as to what may work in it's place from say homedepot HID lamps ect I'm all ears

yep beyond the feed pulling maybe all of a finger nail or two down too far on a print leaving the bottom off the prints were fine

didnt really care to fix the timing to get a perfect center on each print long as it printed the full image but nothing else wrong

sucker is rated for thousands of prints on ocd imager drum n such and I've barely put it thru paces with maybe 800 txts off that gutenberg project thing and maybe 400 or so full color pics

I've tried other toner with the same results so I assume it's fuse related not toner but im hard pressed to drop like 100 something on a freakin lightbulb imager deal when the damn printer cost 399 new yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago

it's a hack 'n smack deal just hoping some old timers here have worked with funky lasers and can help hodgepodge this thing

I'm shocked this place has almost zero diy technophiles....
