I'm not so much as superstitious as paranoid. I don't consider myself a paranoid person, because I consider paranoia to be an emotion as much as a state of mind. I definitely do not experience paranoia. I do, however, notice a LOT of situations where I could see myself being screwed over by some one else. I almost never take action on any of these notions, but a hint of wonder always goes through my head when I know I'm vulnerable.
The difference is "OH SHIT SOME ONE IS FOLLOWING ME!!!" versus "hmm, some one is behind me. He COULD be looking to mug me with the knife he might have. Doubtful though..."
I think it's hilarious when people are paranoid AND superstitious. "OH SHIT! THERE IS A BLACK CAT FOLLOWING ME! RUN!"

Karma is about the only superstition I have but there is a little bit of reasoning behind Karma. If you tend to do bad things usually bad things will happen to you but on the other hand if you do good all your life you can still get run over by a bus...so it doesn't always work. People who do bad things to other people will usually get the same thing right back at em. Often when you take a big ol dump on another person they will not feed you chili dogs and buy you a beer. Usually they throw even more shit right back but sometimes you can buy a person a beer and a chili dog and then they will turn around and fuck your poodle and take a shit on the carpet. Am I rambling again?

Well that explains the dead flowers in the flower bed, but now what do I do about my broken plumbing?

good job i'm not, as i've broken enough mirrors (and other things) to ensure that bad luck would follow me into the grave.

depends on how you define superstition if its broken mirrors and black cats then no but perhaps superstitions on a more karma like level
