Myxer doesn't seem to be worried about being sued by major record labels. Steve Spiro, Myxer's vice president of marketing, said the company has followed the Digital Millennium Copyright Act since the company launched in 2005, and whenever it learns of a copyright infringement, the content comes down. Also, major copyright holders can create an account to take down anything they see that belongs to them.

Myxer also has an officer in charge of copyright compliance.

But with about 19.5 million registered users, naturally there will be some renegades that go against the rules and share things they don't own the rights to share.

''We're 110 percent confident that we've done nothing wrong and we'll prevail,'' Spiro said. ``It's an impossible burden on fast-growing sites to check [every user's uploads] and see who owns the copyright.''

So if they are following the law, why are record labels going after them?

A clear case of too much power in the hands of RIAA and waste of taxpayer's money if this case goes to court. Bunch of over-zealous asses.:firedevil:
