i had a similar problem... i was missing the AC3 codec, even tho i installed it. i tried the BSplayer from www.doom9.org (under downloads, media players) and it worked out of the box (so to speak) and i have yet to have a single problem with it.

The answer to the problem is to go to google and search for the Nimo Codec Pack, and download and install it.
Some divx movies were encoded using old divx verisons and their sound wont play on the newest codec downloading and installing the codec pack will fix that.

Hello, just my friendly 2 cents worth. Whenever you cant play a file, always try to get the codec first, without installing more software.
It is one thing to not have a codec, it is another to have multiple softwares battling to be the default handler for files.
Get Nimo 5.8, READ it as you instal it, and dont use TFM and Morgan Multimedia together. Atherwise, the FULL or CUSTOM instal will be ok.
