Stop the press!
Youre using Windows Media Player arent you ? Duhhhhh
Well I uninstalled that biotch, but let me have a moment of Zen here . . . . . ahhmmmmmm aahhhmmmmm
Go to Tools, Options, and look for a settings tab, where you can put a checkmark in to Enable Fullscreen. Its there.
Its so easy if you know about it, maybe one of our most friendly and helpful members will be glad to assist you in finding it too.
Anyhoo, thats your answer friend,
gnite

WHICH media player and O/S do you have wesr?
You DID reboot right?
If I recall, you have to dig a bit for it, read the fine print, but its there. Is WMP your default app for movies? or is it BSPlayer?

I REINSTALLED THAT BIOTCH for you !!!
Go to Tools > Options > Performace > Advanced checkmark the "Enable Fullscreen Switch Mode"
Also make sure the ALL of them are checkmarked, and that Video Acceleration is all the way.

With WMP9, I am able to get true full screen by going to View > Full Mode Options > Auto Hide Toolbar.
When you play a file, and move your cursor OFF off the screen where you cant see it, it will auto hide and change to a full screen.
I hope this helps.

Like anything else, you have to lock it (WMP9) down and not chatty chat on the internet. I was just looking for a solution for you, as mine worked ok in WMP8, and, when i had the problem before, the checkmark fixed it.
cheers

lmao about the nimo codecs Nimo is great, but can be a night mare,
SInce your scrounging for fixes, try double clicking the video?
That usually makes it go full screen.
