Hello everyone,
I'm new to Kazaa Lite and I need help. My data value # is 258. Should I lower the # to 190 for maximum speed? Also, I would like for my music to go into the file of "My Music" instead of the Kazaa set file of "Shared Files". Can I do this? Thanks:shy

Thx everyone.
I'll try to make music. As far as value data #, I read on someones post that if you put the # at 190, it's suppose to allow you the maximum speed for downloading music. I'm not sure if I'm posting this right. I hope this goes with the rest of the posts. If not, you all are going to have to show me how to keep the posts together. Now, after I download music how do let others know about the songs that I have so that they can download from me? I apologize for being a pain. Have patience with me. What this about a signature?

you dont have to worry about letting kazaa know about your files, it will pick them up automatically.
I still dont understand what you mean by a data# - can you tell me where on kazaa you see this data number?

are you talking about bitrate? IE the amount of data per second a file takes?

I don't remember what his name is or where I saw it but he said it was "Maximum result of 400". He said it was to configure your computer to have a maximum search research of 400. Then he explained how to get there.
1. Start menue/ run/ enter "regedit"
2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/Kazaa/advanced
3. Open Max Search result
4. Enter value data # as 190.
The thing about this is: My data # is set at #258. According to him, it's supposed to be set at #190 so that when you are downloading, the downloading time will be faster. I don't understand it. Have any of you heard of this.

this doesnt get you faster downloads, it slightly increases the number of results kazaa returns when you do a search.
a trick some folks like to show off about, but i wouldnt bother with it personally.
o and you missed a bit, in part 4) you should change hexadecimal to decimal before you enter 190.

Hi,
1. When I changed it to decimal the value number changes from 258 to 600. What's that all about? I put it back on hexidecimal because I don't know what I'm doing.
2. My participation is level is at Low 20. What does this mean? How do I get people to upload from me. Should I call the Dell people to see what they can do or how they can help me? How do I share my files?

1. Start menue/ run/ enter "regedit"
2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/Kazaa/advanced
3. Open Max Search result
--4. Enter value data # as 190.--
Of, first things first. the above is just to increase your maximum search results in Kazaa. Kazaa automatically limits your results to 200. Do the above except for step 4. Now, right click on "MaxSearchResult", and choose "modify". OK, make sure "Decimal" is checked. The number displayed is the amount of search results Kazaa returns. Change it to whatever you wan't it to be.
2. My participation is level is at Low 20. What does this mean? How do I get people to upload from me. Should I call the Dell people to see what they can do or how they can help me? How do I share my files?
Ok, Kazaa automatically shares any files you download. They are present in your default download directory. Now, to share files not in your default download directory, go to "tools" and "find media to share". Now choose "folder list" to specify what directory(s) you wan't to share. All files in that directory will be shared and all subdirectory's will be shared. Your participation level goes up when you upload and is balanced to the amount you download. If you are downloading more than you are uploading, your level will decrease. If you upload more than you download, your level will increase. When you rate your files by going to "My Kazaa", and right clicking on files listed and rating them, your participation level goes up some.

Hi there
I wonder if anyone can help me please, do you know why an icon (usually the green and yellow 'K' ) next to downloading files, would be a different colour, in this case all yellow?? Thanks:fire
