i just got a 120GB hard drive. i had 80GB with my computer, so now i'm up to 200GB hard drive!!!! i'm gonna try and share as much as i can, even though i'm 56k, but i have two lines so i can stay online 24/7 cause my internet i use doesn't disconnect. so i'm gonna share as much as possible.

but do you think for $125.65 a brand New western digital 120Gb hard drive is good deal? it's 7200 rpms, not the lousy 5400 rpms.
and it's a start kit not just the hard drive. it comes with everying you need to setup? i thought it was a good deal but let me know what you think.

anyways heres my computer now.

windows xp pro
1.82Ghz
480MB RAM Installed, 512MB RAM total.
200GB Hard drive
32MB video card
speakers w/ woofer

i dunno thats all i can think of right now

What's a start kit? I got a drive only recently. Set the jumpers to master/slave, popped it in, and told XP that there's a new drive. What did you need that kit for?

Having an extra IDE cable is not a bad idea.

Devide the size by the $ .

However, Gb per buck isnt the answer. Look at the manufacturers warrenty ! 1 yr? 2yr?

Also, I am not a WD fan, I think they are noisy. And, 5400rpm isnt lousy, your DOWNLOADING to the damn thing, maybe play a movie off of it.

I bought Seagate Barricuda at Googlegear.com, very happy with it.

Im glad you got to upgrade, and especially glad you share!

it came with a 3 year warranty. i dunno what a start kit is. it just says start kit on the box. i'm guessing they just mean all the cables and everything. but maybe they're just making it sound better to sell. lol not sure.
