They seem to cache the torrents they get back from the private trackers, and share with everyone. Your passkey gets used by others, and I doubt non-members are going to help your ratio, and also many sites have a limit on the # of ip's for one account. Also, if you get a torrent from btjunkie with someone else's passkey, if you're a member there, you'll be banned. This is one member service from btjunkie you can do without.

Why would you even consider giving anyone or any site your private site information or torrent files? Its against the rules on most sites to upload the torrent anywhere else, and if your already a member on said site, why would you dl the torrent elsewhere?

Did I miss something, or is there really cause for concern here?

Third party sites seem to offer the ability to have a kind of one-stop-shopping, where you can download all the torrents you want, regardless of what the tracker is. thebox just mentioned this on their front page, saying at least 50 members have recently been losing ratio. I've seen this kind of thing on other private sites too, but don't remember a warning.

Yea, but the 50 members loosing ratio, they each had to have uploaded a torrent file to a 3rd party site, which no smart person would do, especially one who actually read through the tracker rules.

I can see some one dling a torrent from there without realizing it was from tracker X where they are already a member, and end up banned for passkey mismatch.

You don't even have to upload a torrent. I assume that when you give btjunkie your name/pw, they get the torrent from the private tracker, which of course tacks on your passkey. If they then cache that, you could be screwed. I don't know exactly what they do, but the results are obvious.

Well thats even more stupid. Sorry I'm not familliar with their site, but credentials are ment to be kept private. It looks like they are not advertising as a password storing site, so why would anyone give their password out willingly to a 3rd party site?

I must either be missing something, or I am just smarter then the avarage torrenter for keeping my PRIVATE passwords to myself.
