If you count OiNK as merely a part of Waffles, I'd say Waffles is the oldest private BitTorrent site. The oldest BitTorrent website in general has to be ThePirateBay.

I don't know where you get your info, but I'd bet there were dozens, if not hundred of private trackers before Waffles, which is relatively still new.

The oldest public was SuprNova. The oldest private tracker would probably be Demonoid, but that is just a guess.

He said 'if you count oink as a part of waffles' which I don't really get, but yea, Oink was an older site I suppose.

And demonoid isn't private, you can get most of their stuff without signing up.

TL has their 4 year birthday coming up, but sites like Filelist are among the oldest that are still around.

Supernova was gone ages ago, so that doesn't really count.

Yeah, I'm thinking that what is really being asked is the oldest site that still exists today. If you really wanted the oldest, then I think Bitconjuror (sp?) was, at least, one of the oldest... unless I'm thinking of a site with a different name (hard to remember details that far back). I just remember bare HTML links to .torrent files which strangely had quite an underground feel to it at the time. *shrugs*

Though, of course, BitTorrent started public because few people had a clue about it back when SuprNova was a small site with a couple thousand users. I seem to remember ThePirateBay being around when SuprNova was starting as well, so that's why I figured that TPB is the oldest surviving torrent site.

Bitme is around 4.25 yrs.

I think I remember tvtorrents back when it was 1 page and had 10 torrents total back and we used BT 1.0

If you count uk-t and f**r as derivatives of UkTorrents and WDGAF they go back more than 5 years.

TvTorrents. Now that's taking me back. :)

I remember BTSites when they had that crappy yellow colour background (background options were added later through a little javascripting magic though :) ), a small graph of sites, a shoutbox and a pair of ads. So many people went to that site screaming, "Please reseed [insert torrent here] I'm at 90%!!!Eleventyoneoneone"

Any site which has an origin to mid 2001. Bram Cohen started to work on the bitorrent in early 2001. By the end of the year there were a couple of different bt clients and several trackers.

I think its now TorrentBytes.net that is the oldest. I remember them from 4 years and they still had a lot of older members.

The firs site I remember going to was SuperNova when BT was just starting (Thanks for that Miniver it got me into BT). There is anime site called BoxTorrents that I have been on for about 5 years and it is still up and running. (Yes a 52 yr guy who likes anime. "You wanna fight about it"
Then there is TorrentReactor which is different then its parent of many years ago, it has been around for about 5yrs.
I know it is not a BTsite per say, but Isohunt is as old as dirt.
