I have decent knowledge about file-sharing and networking, but I'm having trouble setting up kazaa on my linksys 4-port cable/dsl router. I set up the Port Forwarding with WinMX Using TCP 6699 and UDP 6257, which works great, but users are not able to upload files from me using port 1214 with Kazaa although i have set up forwarding for this port as well. Any suggestions? I appreciate any useful info...:santa

If you use Kazaa++, you can change the port from 1214 to whatever you wan't. I'd try using Kazaa++ and then changing what port Kazaa uses to something else. Then set up port forwarding for that port and see if it works. I'm no expert, just though i'd throw that out there.

Hmmm, I'm almost possitive I have the same router as you, I plugged it in with my cable modem, installed kazaa with default settings, and it worked

what kind of options did you change/what os/net connection type, any more information you could provide us with would help us to help you :)

I have Windows ME, Linksys BEFSR41 Router, and a cable connection. I haven't changed any of the settings for the router besides the port forwarding. I'll give kazaa++ a try, although i'm not sure why it wouldn't work on 1214 and would work on another port...hmm...

P.S.
I removed my other post, thanks, Krell, for puttin up with the n00b :)
