I was d/ling a couple of mp3s earlier today when my computer so nicely told me winmx had to shut due to an error, I rebooted only to have it do it again and again until it wouldnt even load. I re-installed only to get the same thing. Somebody told me i might have d/loaded too much but i dont think i have rinsed it that much! I have ran my anti-virus and got nothing and i cant restore due to not having anything to back up on to.
Has anyone else had these problems? Is there a way round it?
HEEEEEEYLP! I need mx too work!!!

Well it might not help but it's worth trying.
Instead if just re-starting, turn off computer and unplug it, wait for 10 minutes or so and then start up.
Once in a blue moon something get's stuck in memory, it has happened to me perhaps twice at least in say 7 years. :-p

Also another idea is delete any registry settings that refer to winmx . I have had some apps give me trouble till I deleted the registry settings they installed. Sometimes the registry settings in regards to a particular app can get corrupted and no matter how many times you re-install that corrupted reg file messes with you.

Just a few ideas.

good luck!

thanx rickio, i already done that and still no joy. for some reason winmx 2.6 is working like a dream, i have never had speeds like i did last night. The only downfall is that there is no chat and no multi source or auto complete.
I still really need 3.1 to work so any other help by anyone is much appreciated.

i have found new info that suggests i have been 'flagged' by winmx for d/l, u/l too much. I suggest anyone else with my problem should read my other thread called: EVERYBODY SHOULD READ THIS for helpful info
