Hey, dose anyone have this problem with some torrents, I get to 95% and then it stalls? This doesn't happen too often but when it dose it's just a pain!...I don't really understand why the torrent is still alive and people continue seeding it if there's not enough availability...I read some time ago that you could do something about this but i can't remember where i found the tip & tricks...dose anybody else know them? :icon_scra

Well if it's music at almost complete, it's often just due to people using a media player that retags the music e.g. iTunes.
In that case just try to see if it plays or make a copy and retag that one. Most of the time it should work, but if it's only at 95%, unlike the 99.9% you have in the tiltle, then I doubt it.
You can have some clients ignore bad piece checks, but that depends very much on the file.

Well you can unpack rar files ignoring errors, so maybe try that.. but again if it's only 95% I doubt it will help.

You can check your log and see if you are being passed bad pieces. If you see a lot of "failed hash check" messages, there may be a mole in the swarm, poisoning the torrent.
Sometimes running pg or ipfilterx will alleviate the problem, cause you won't connect to the mole anymore.
Occasionally, your router (assuming you are behind one) can mangle packets as well. This will also screw up your download and keep it from completing.
Sometimes just switching to a different port will fix that too.

You can join private sites where none of the shit happens. Either media owners have people donig it to torrents or people like being an ass and purposely do it to you.

What if the private site doesn't have what he is downloading? Most private sites suck content wise. You can find a lot more out there in the wild, where it should be. Sometimes it can be slow but so what, at least it can be found. Most members only sites suck dick. Especially ones that consider themselves scene releases. Boring bullshit. Might as well watch MTV

I never did get the whole private site thing.
Every one I ever got in always wound up being pretty lame, and I always just returned to using Usenet and public trackers.

I recently was given an invite to a big site and I decided to see what it was all about. It was pure shit. I grabbed a couple of HD movies but the speed wasn't great and all the content was nothing special at all. I like rare movies. Shit thats hard to get. Not shit thats everywhere. Seems pretty stupid to me. Whats so special about being a member at sites like that. I LOVE Cinemageddon because they only allow weird, hard to find shit. All the other sites suck cock
