Ok, I am in a world of shit as we speak.

I will try to give a brief explanation as to how this happend.

I am running a dual boot system, boot sectors got corrupted blah blah anyway, i got it fixed, and am running XP pro and 2k Pro fine now. the problem is, the hdd that i had 2k pro on, was partition 35 gig/5 gig. After i fixed my boot sectors, and got everything running, i had no need for the 35/5 partition, so i merged them. And i know there is always a chance of screwing things up when you merge 2 partition, well Partition magic did it's "magic" and "Fuxxored" everything.

OK, at this point in time, i havent written anything to this drive yet, as this would make recovering the data that much harder,

I have downloaded several tools which "recover" data (well show you what can be recovered after you pay an insane fee for the full version)

I need to know of FREE data recovery tools, I have downloaded about 6 now, and all of them stink compared to the comercial apps. File Scavenger was able to find ALL of my old files, and says they are all recoverable. Not having alot of money to purchase this program, i feel i am stuck with a 40 gig i cannot use untill i either A: say screw it, and start writting data to that drive, rendering all data un-recoverable
or B: wait untill i get the money to buy the program,or find a free
program that will enable me to recover them.

If anyone has File Scavenger 2.0 (i have a "tool" for this version ;) ) Or any data recovery tools, that they could send me a copy of i would be forever in your debt. As it stands now, i have a 40 GIG HDD that isnt usable

Please excuse bad grammer etc, as i am a bit flustered at the moment.

BEST regards to ALL,

Not trying to be a broken record....but

Have you tried all the programs on this page? http://www.webattack.com/Freeware/system/fwdatarecovery.shtml

Seems like the program PC Inspector File Recovery seems promising....

I'll keep looking though. Good luck...

I hope both partitions werent full of data. The typical approach to to recover the data to another drive, so you need a buttload of free space somewhere else. You are correct in your methodology thus far, keep in mind your ntfs and file permissions. Some data recovery doesnt work well on ntfs also.

I have some goodies *cough* cracked *cough cough* on a drive not installed at the moment, let me know of you need something else. Also, *gasp* if one of these partitions had your "incoming files" folder for a P2P app, . . . god help you sort thru it all. It may be prudent to just get the most recent and valueable of things.

Krell,

I have over 120 gigs of HDD space on 3 different HDD's, so recovery wont be an issue, I know not to set the recovery to the same HDD lol that would be disasterous. And i didnt have any special permission set on the drive,

And yes, i do need need what you are able to offer me. PM me please :)
