I was previously using uTorrent with PeerGuardian2 behind it to help.. Well, PeerGuardian2 started having some issues with BSOD'ing my computer. So I dropped it.. Now I am getting worried that I was going to get busted soon.. so I sought after another solution.

What I came up with was Deluge.. the win32 port. It has a built-in blocklist importer. It also has a WebUI.. not NEARLY as nice as uTorrent's.. but it is somewhat functional.

I'm having a tough time tweaking the settings for my Comcast connection. I just can't seem to rattle off the speeds I was doing on uTorrent.

Is this a bad client or not ready for Windows yet? Or do I need to continue tinkering with my upload/download/torrent settings? Does anyone have any other recommendations? My requirements are that it MUST have a completely functional WebUI, the ability to drop torrents into a folder to "auto start", and be for Windows. Deluge's WebUI leaves me hanging though.. it's definitely hurting.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/reasoning.

Just a small update since I got no suggestions.. I haven't used Azureus since 2004.. And I hear its pretty memory heavy, so it may not be the best one to use on this P3 with 192MB of ram in Windows 2000.

I run my internet through a linux firewall distrib. called IPCop, and I figured I would see if it could handle 400 max connections in Deluge. Nay, whole internet crashed and burned. Had to have the girlfriend reset IPCop and turn off the torrent PC.

I tried it with fairly modest settings today.. I believe it was 50KB/s Upload limit, 2 active torrents downloading, 5KB/s per upload slot, 10 upload slots total. 550KB/s Download limit, and 120 max connections... Well, I found out the internet crashed! Well, I found out it is supposedly my entire neighborhood!! I thought for sure Comcast turned off my service or something. It is still down.

Let me ask this -- What torrent clients are capable of running blocklists from within the torrent client itself on the Windows platform? I am really nervous about the Anti-P2P groups.. I've had 2 narq attempts on me in the past -- so I tightened it down a bit, and haven't gotten narqed on since.

I guess my ultimate concern is keep the bad guys out.. What should I do? PeerGuardian2 is BSOD'ing my Windows 2k/Torrent PC.. so that option is out the door as I am currently abroad. I have full VNC/RDC access to 3 of my PCs at home.

To be honest, nothing can keep the bad guys out. Peerguardian and the like don't really work. The best way to stay secure with Bittorrent is use only private trackers.
