One of the greatest rock artists, Burton Cummings, released his first solo album since 1990. For those who aren't familiar with the name, he was the front man for The Guess Who, known for American Woman and These Eyes. The album is called Above The Ground, sadly its released by Sony/BMG. Were it not for it being released by Sony, this album may have warranted a purchase. It fits into a weird style, kind of adopting styles from 1970's 1980's rock.

Anyone else listening to this album right now?

He lives in my town. I have met him several times. If you ever get a chance to see him live, he puts on an excellent show. He is an awesome performer and musician/songwriter.

Ya, I saw them live at the 97 floor relief concert RnR. If you recall I'm a pegger. Not sure how often he stays here in Winnipeg. He has 2 other houses, one in BC and one in the U.S.

I'll add a touch of class to this thread. Toronto class, not Winnipeg. :icon_joke
He's a Canadian institution. One of his hits. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1ZZgG3dbsU&feature=PlayList&p=22DDB61EF0E85AE0&index=2

I clicked on that YT link and found myself listening to about 5 or 6 songs by the Guess Who and Cummings. That was good shit! I hate to show my age, but I remember this stuff when it was huge on the radio...back in the AM days. I don't care what anyone says, music was better then.
