I downloaded this program 2 times and both have the same problem. This makes me think it is something with my computer. When I click the icon a window pops up and says:

Sorry, this pre-released product has expired.

I click OK and another window pops up and says:

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

I click the details of this message and this is what I get:

ACAD caused an invalid page fault in
module ACRX15.DLL at 0167:63cd72d5.

You need to unistall Norton Anti-virus, I am sure you have it installed if you are getting this error. And for future referance you dont need to start two or three threads on the same issue.

As companies try to keep up with technology, upgrading software is one step in the battle. In addition to keeping up with technology, we also must protect what makes us money * our computers and networks. Most companies run some virus protection software and it is very important to keep that updated to protect our livelihood protected from the latest viruses.

The newest version of Norton AntiVirus 2003 is NOT currently compatible with any version of AutoCAD or any vertical application.

Once Norton AntiVirus 2003 has been installed, starting your application will result in ACAD caused an invalid page fault in module AC1ST15.DLL at 0197:65fe1e3b The address will vary.

Currently the ONLY fix is to UNINSTALL Norton AntiVirus. Symantec is aware of the problem and working with Autodesk to resolve the issue.

Also try this link, Its got alot of stuff, i dont know if it will help or not.

AutoCad Help Page (http://www.fredrick.com/technicalsupport/ts_atods.html)

Oh, and noone has all the answers man, people may just not know the answer thats why you didnt get any responces. All the info you see i found from serching google adn my experiance with Autocad2002. You may want to try looking for you spacific error there also. If you cant get it to work, you may want to try installing it on a freah copy of windows or another machine with a differnt OS to see if its your copy. Trial and error works the best sometimes.

ok, did it come in a .zip or .rar file? Did it come in a ISO and you burnt it to CD? Does it ask for a licence key when you start? Or was it just a single file?

It extracted to the folder I specified so I could find it easy. It is not a ISO file. I don't know if it is a rar or zip it extracted on it's own so maybe it is a zip. Sorry, I am unfamiliar with this. Thanks for the help though.

alright thats a start. look in the folder it extracted it to and see if there is a xxx.nfo file, or .txt, some kind of readme file. (xxx=the file name) if there is then right click and open with notepad or MS word or something like that. That should contain information on who did the crack\and or repack of the program. It should also tell you how to fix it. Let me know from this point if you have that fiel or something similer. If this gets to deep we may have to take it somewhere else, Warez, cracks and keys are not allowd on ZP. BUT I am not sure how far they will let our conversation go. I will help you as much as I can.

I found a file called CRACK and this was in it. How do I do this.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
=========================

1) When prompted enter Codes with license key.

2) After Installation copy the Crack.exe and apply it in your installed dir.

3) Then copy the provided acad.exe and overwrite that one in the installed directory.

Enjoy..

Edit you post and take out the serial number please,

then after you finish installing you will just need to copy the Crack.exe file into the folder you installed the program. then double click and run the crack. then take the new EXE (acad.exe ) and copy and paste it into the folder you installed the program, it will ask you to overwrite, say yes and run the program. Make sure you back up ( i.e. make a copy and put it somewhere else) of the ORIGANAL exe you will be covering over. DID that make sense.

You only need to left click and drag the new file over the folder with the old file then release the button. That will "copy" the file and ask you if you want to overwrite, You can also "drag and drop" a file that you want to move (i.e. the crack.exe) to any folder that way. OR you can rigth click on the file and select copy from the menu. then right click in the folder (called the destination folder in computer terms) you want to put it in and then select paste.

I am doing something wrong!!!! How do I make sure these files are going to where they are supposed to. This should work if I do this right, right? I am in windows explorer goto C:programs/autocad2002. This is where I drop the crack.exe right just drop it over autocad 2002 not in the window with all the files for autocad 2002.

So, you un-installed Norton AntiVirus, you got a cracked AutoCAD from an unknown source. Now, you're trying to apply a crack.exe, and you don't know how, much less do you know what it'll actually do. You hope it'll crack AutoCAD so that you can use it. Well, I hope so too cause things like this don't always do friendly things.

Edit: Sees the above posts - lucky! Lucky?

The probelm for him WAS NOT Norton in the end and he may re-install norton if he wishes, but it still may cause a error and that is expained in the first replay i made. He has already extracted the file BEFORE uninstalling norton because he had asked me the queation ealier in the evening. But it came down to just not knowing what to do to fix the file. Norton should, you notice the should, have caught anything when or after he was download or extracting the zip to his harddrive. you will always have a chance of getting a virus or something even from a lagitimate source. But the UNINSTALL comes from Autocad itsself not another random site so there is no other way to make it run. But you have a good point in that uninstalling a virun scan in not a good thing to do, but in this case there is no other way.

contact the company and complain? lol

my guess is it was beta software or something like that (pre release), try to get a different version of it

(one other quick thought I doubt will work.....take your windows time back a year or so, maybe it will be within the time restraints, doubt it, but thats my only guess)
