AT&T's bandwidth caps for its high speed internet customers are here. They're conducting a "market trial" in Reno that started on Nov. 1, where users get between 20GB and 150GB a month, depending on their speed tier. Unlike Time Warner's trial in Beamont, where caps were only applied to new customers, existing customers will also be capped, though they'll get the roomier 150GB cap. If you bust the cap, AT&T will charge an extra dollar per gigabyte.

Wait, are they implying the comcrap caps are only for new customers?
Did I miss that somewhere??

No, that only applies to the trial. In the Beaumont test, only new customers were subject to the caps, now everyone is. AT&T wants to roll out the caps to everyone in the trials before making it nationwide.

This is fucking retarded. As much as I love the internet I may have to boycott it if it happens with Frontier LOL

Meh. I have comcap, and I just ignore the cap. If I do too much, then oh well, they loose a paying customer. I stopped monitoring my bandwidth oct. 2nd.

Theres always dsl in my area if need be, then wireless after that...

How do you fill up 250GB a month? I do less than 1/4 that continually dl/ul all month. I usually run out of HDD before I run out of BW and have to delete my precious tv shows.

250 is up and down, so its only 125gb of space on my machine, and I have around 750gb of storage...

I dont dl a whole lot, its the movie packs, dvdr's, and all the damn shows for the wifey and mother in law that do me in...

Yeah it's tough being the household TiVo.

If the cap applies to my area I might have to curb my mkvs or watch actual tv.
