lol, that has me stumped. i guess checking to see if its a bittorrent site (NOT an indexer) is a good start.

look here (http://www.zeropaid.com/links/bittorrent/) for a list of sites that have their own trackers.

EDIT: lots of porn BT sites on our BT site list, wish i had checked it out earlier :drunken_s :icon_thum

I had already checked out zeropaid. As I understand it a tracker can be an indexer, an indexer can be a tracker, or a site can be just a tracker or just an indexer.

The zeropaid list is just for 'BT sites' there is no clue as to which site does what, for example, I am pretty sure that Mininova is NOT a tracker it is indexing only but it is on Zeropaid.

Is there way of testing what a site does?

This site may help you some http://torrentfreak.com/5-most-popular-bittorrent-trackers-070924/

You can also tell by reading the get.diz or .txt file that comes with a file. It will usually something that looks like "Torrent downloaded from http://www.Demonoid.com"

Those should give you some idea.
