Hello, this is my first post on the fourms.

I am a relatively new p2p user, and I got started with rapidshare and have an account there. Many people say it's one of the safest ways on not to get caught. Are there any other p2ps with the ease of use/safety of rapidshare?

Well, the thing with Rapidshare is that you are not uploading anything, only downloading. Which is arguably not infringement for you have no way to know that Rapidshare had no right to host the files. If you did upload a file to rapidshare that you did not have the rights to you may be liable then, but I don't think thats going to happen anytime soon.

With p2p you are not only downloading but also uploading, also you are directly connected to other users which allows those other users to see your IP address. Most civil suites by the RIAA have identified people by associating them to their IP address. Although many have argued that an IP address is not sufficient for a lawsuit, so you may be able to fight a case on those grounds. It woudln't however be fun to be invovled in such a case.
