Private message quota?

something here, which I have been wondering about for a while.

I always expected that length of membership/post count/rep/something would make it go up from the initial 100, but after almost two years here etc. it's still the same 100. On every other forum I'm on it does increase, and even an increase to 250 would mean a world of difference.

Does it ever increase?

Just asking because on several occasions, when I wanted to check something in an old PM, I had already deleted it to make room for new ones.

After some forum upgrade eons ago, some people had 50... some had 100... some had 200. I've had 200 ever since then.

Have no idea, but would be good for saving PM's. I know you can download them usually, but so not the same thing as a bigger quota.

Could some admin/sysop give me account a tuneup? since it doesn't seem to be because of any of the things mentioned above. Something like this would be nice:

From his previous post, its sounds like its given by a grouping system. So you have regular member, vip member, mods, supermods and admin. So my guess is that he forgot to up it for the mods which is why you havent gotten it to 500 tater.

a realistic limit is probably 50 for admin, decreasing to a lot less for us peons- why the heck do you need to archive 200 pm's?

if your going to allow difference based on user group go for avatar and signature size, its greater server load but it makes more of a difference on board..

Not that it matters but all my staff had unlimited ...one of the *coughonlycough* perks.... I think that members were limited to 100 by default but if the member was a regular and requested to have a larger inbox I would usually oblige.

just wondering if this is a problem here on ZP...how many of you have receive spam through PM? i've never gotten one, but whenever i look at who's online i see a bunch of people i've never seen on the boards messaging all the time.

is it possible to run scripts that disable sending messages till a new user has made at least 5 posts or something? just a suggestion...
