Help! Please Help!

Hey guys. I am moving off to college today and I am an avid Bittorrent user (using the client of utorrent). Well I'm really scared that i'm going to get down there and not be able to seed, or hardly download for that matter, because they have a firewall. Does anyone know a way i could forward a port or do ANYTHING to make it to where I could have a successful downloading/seeding experience? Thank you all for your help!

I guess you could talk to the network admin and ask if you could get a static IP and find out if any ports are available. Just make sure not to demand that stuff.

Yeah God forbid they go to college and get an education. Why not do it the old fashion way. Have your freinds download it and burn it and send it in a care package. That way you can be closer to family and freinds or better yet live off campus.

Each floor you get a group of people together or each area.. And just sync the hard drives up daily or buy external drives and trade within the campus. Way their cracking down on p2p in campus. Do you want to get kicked out for something so tedious? Get a education. Apply at the RIAA and help us bring them down.. =)

You're at the crossroads of your life. Sure, you can get an education, get a corporate gig, use non-pirated software at work, and maybe public trackers at home or even pay for your stuff if you're in the entertainment industry.
I say screw all that, keep your memberships on private sites in good standing, and live in your parents' basement, blissfully downloading. Don't give in to "the man". Principles > wearing a suit, piracy is worth fighting for. :icon_salu

LMAO, the poor kid just wanted to know if he could bypass campus rules (which he can't if they've employed a network administrator who has anything more than half a brain). it's a sign of the times i guess, in my days we were more worried about things like drinking more than your roomie without having to crawl away from the encounter, and getting laid, or both.

i like the seedbox idea for this one though...get yourself one and enjoy. but the guys are right, no matter how big a fan you are of brittany spears and can't wait to get her next album it isn't worth a fail grade, unless you're k-fed. hmmm, come to think of it, if you can't sing to save your life, you might have a shot...
