Yeah it would be nice if zeropaid had a chat room (wait it dosent right?) I don't know, some times fourms get kida long and there are a lot of heated disscussions amog 2 people I know there is PM (persional messages) but what happens if 2 people agree and 2 people don't and you want to argue and build off eachouters arguements. I often have complex ideas and they are hard to explane it would be nice if it was easer to ask questions.
Some irc chat room would be enough.

this should be done decenralized in the p2p-clients like shearaza
Bearshare has already implemented a chatroom
test it

Umm yeah I think all p2p clients should have a chatroom. It would be nice if a client had irc then you could chat and download stuff form irc then you client could then find more sources on what ever network it uses (I think dice dose this but I am too lazy do dl it. Emule might do this, I know it has irc chat capabilties and the edonkey netowrk is better than gnutella I think it will replace fasttrack when and if goes down)
But I think zeropaid should have a chat room or some one could set one up and there would be a link on zp's site.

IRC should remain on IRC.. Not every P2P program needs chat. Which is really only a place for people to talk and no other use should really be needed if the network is efficent and well designed enough.

I totaly dissagree I am constatnly asking people what are good things to dl or if somthing is good or not. IRC is free and there are open sorce clients out there you could give it a nice gui and slap it on any p2p app. there are also stuff on irc that isent any where else but a lot of ppl can't use irc beucase they dont know how. The people that do will get info from irc and it will then be on a newer p2p app fore everyone to have.

This got off topic but oh well.
If Zeropaid got a chat I don't think many people would use it. Go look at UTC's chat. Not many people there. So I don't think zeropaid needs a chat. It even may start more flaming and stuff. If people want to chat to themselfs then thats what PMs are for.

I think that is a good point and yeah it did get a littel off topic. but I mean it is a irc chat room not to hard to setup and there are 1,000,000+ users on zp I dont know how many are on utc.

What is the point of setting up one if no one is going to use it. I don't know how many users are at UTC but there is alot. When I went on there chat there was maybe 5 people.

This has already been hashed over, where were you the last time I busted my nuts to try to get it going ?
Secondly,
Munchables, even if we did have a chatroom, no one would go there with you in it ! I would just end up kicking you out. 1,000,000+ users on zp ?
Dont you have ICQ? AIM? MSN? Trillion? Dont you have ANY friends ?

There was a unoffical zp irc channel which was rarely used for a while and i dont think that would change much now judging by the few people in this thread who really want chat. Just saying well UTC has chat i dont think is a good enough reason..
The java cilent that most sites use really sucks too.

Chatrooms, more than anything else, is what exposes people to new and different kinds of music that you wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. I almost solely use programs that have them.
Maybe not every P2P program NEEDS chat, but every P2P program SHOULD have it.
And as for ZP, well, I think that a limited trial of the chatroom, maybe for a couple of weeks, would give us a good idea of whether it should be a permanent fixture on the site.

I think you should have some chat rooms with a client, for the people who are interested. I frequently pm people on kazaa, but rarely get an answer. Mostly I ask them if a file is workign or fake.. etc. Do people find it annoying I pm them? I always respond if someone answers me. The people who do answer are always very friendly, no flaming...

It's irc.p2pchat.net tho... and yes I did register (a few months ago) it so we could have live chat instead of having conversations on the forums.

Theres also one on dalnet thats even older than that one..
I doubt registering on a new server is going to help anything.

Seph DALnet is a war zone compared to P2PChat. Hardly any spam bots, no virus drones, hardly any need for kills, small tight community but welcoming, etc etc.
I have gone over this so many times that it just gets tiring. No one ever listens, no one ever comes. Keviod is about the only other ZP member that I see everyday on chat, but at least it gives me hope that I am not alone lol.
I welcome anyone willing to check it out to PM me and I will give them the full details, otherwise I am just reiterating everything I have said time and time again. Give it a try folks, I can get your started (and once you're started you get hooked.. although I am a tad burned out from it after a year of doing it).

I agree one hundred percent and that people need to express themselves quicker and not have to wait on the 190 second rule
