This is a Zip Virus which is that small, it flies under your antivirus and goes straight into your registry, which then turns out to be called Bloodhound Sonar. Please bear with me, while I let you know what happened, and I could do with sounding off about this bastard virus, which has caused me over 3 days of nightmares. I wouldn't care, but I have Norton Security included with my Broadband package from BT, which costs me a fortune at £29 per month, and you would think if you pay your dues, that you would be covered if you needed help, but the Norton wanted £69 of me, and BT wanted £99 off me before they would lift a figure to help which was out of my reach, so I ended up going solo. (Oh I forgot to say I got the virus from downloading Peer Guardian from C.net, which should of been a good source) I wouldn't care I followed all the instructions at Norton, and there wasn't anything on their website that would help. Then I went to BT and there was nothing they could do unless they got their money off me. Okay, I tried to find a program that would pick it out of the registry, if their was a trojen remover, I went for it and downloaded it, but nothing touched this bastard virus. I looked into the registry to see if I could see anything that shouldn't be there, but this is a very sneaky virus, and I couldn't see it, It must hide itself in one of the many files, and I did try to look through every one. In the end I have had to re format my hard drive, and put all the drivers and software back.
I had really worked hard, but I got so far, but I had a little problem marrying my BT Hub to my wireless connection. I'm not joking, if I could of got hold of the technicans that I spoke to today I would of kicked them in their jewels. Both of them spoke down to me as if I was thick (ok I am) but I know how to follow instructions, and to be told to repeat the same process over 10 times, and to be asked if I had completed the task, and that was just trying to connect my computer to theirs, and then they realised that they couldn't do it unless it was in safe mode for some reason. To cut along story short, it took 2 phone calls and 4 hours to get me back up and running, I wouldn't care I had downloaded all the software and the drivers, it was just some information that was missing. I wasn't an impressed bunny.
I have just noted the file underneath about antivirus thread below, I will probably be wrong on this, I don't know what antivirus would of been able to stop that bastard virus. I must admit I could of thrown this computer through the window and if those technicans would of been near me, I would of kicked them in the family jewels.
You probably already know about this virus, and you probably have the most secure computer in the world, but I have had a good winge.
