Do firewalls block ratio updating?

Hey all,
I'm new to private trackers and I'm confused because my ratio hasn't updated on a couple of sites. My friend told me it was because I have a firewall on (ZoneAlarm)...although I'm not so sure about that. I've tried deleting cache, logging in logging out... Any ideas?

I'm using ZoneAlarm also, it does not block trackers from updating my ratio of any site!

My ex used ZoneAlarm and it blocked the final messages sent when shutting the client down. There was however no problem while the client was running.

Could this maybe be due to some settings in ZA? Maybe have a look at those to make sure it allows your client full access.
