Hi Everyone, I'm new here. My name is snapsnake. First name Snap, Last name Snake. I am 19 years old and live in Snakeland right off Snakedrive right next to Snakeville. I'm sure you know the place. Nice to meet you all :D. Anyway, I am new to the idea of private trackers, but the idea of a forced upload/download ration sounds very appealing to me. I have very fast internet, so I don't mind the upload requirements, but I am sure I would enjoy using a tracker where the other users ACTUALLY UPLOAD BACK!!! Yes, I'm sad to say for the past month I've been a user of the horrifically slow PirateBay. Uhuh I thought you'd understand.

So what I'm looking for is advice on how to get into this community. I see people everywhere trading invites, doing this and that, but I have to wonder what is a newbie like me supposed to do? I have nothing to trade, no invites, no nothing, and will not have one to trade until I begin....trading invites? oh wait i can't do that yet..what shall I do???

Basically I know I'd be a good person for this, I have fast internet (6mbps down/ 1mbps up), and have no problem seeding. So far I've got 15 torrents I've downloaded from the Pirate Bay (which surprisingly comes out to equal 60gb), but thats obviously what happens when you download movies in HD lol. Well anyway I'd be very grateful to anyone who can set me straight concerning this whole private tracker world, I'd really appreciate some advice.

PS: I LOVE Counter-Strike Source. Hit me up with a PM if you play lol oh yah and COD4 too, just got that but I'll be in the multi as soon as I beat this danged last level! haha

Well, the approach I took was to go into the trackers IRC channel. And just hang around there and get to know some people, eventually someone will offer you an invite, or something along those lines.

Most people don't take kindly to some random coming into their IRC channel and spamming "PL0x GIMME T3H INVITEZ". So yeah refrain from doing that.

Good luck :D

read and follow this thread:
http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=48000

it's a gold mine for what you want. don't ask for invites cause no one will give you any based just on what you say, i can claim to be on a blazing 28k dial up (hey, it very hard to get those these days) but reality may be very different. and it may get you banned. just sign up to one of the sites in that thread and work your way up.

also beware of potato,
he's got 2 sides to him evil and good.
try to be on the good side, unless you want a negative rep.

anyways i also hang around irc, but if i want invites i got plenty resorces.
you know that meaning of bittorrent is sharing, and its immposible to stay private when you are in this bussiness.
i don't really care to get new trackers, i just contibute to the ones i have, and sometimes when i acually need the trackers its there waiting for me :)

unlike most, i recommend to download what you really really like(if you got a huge buffer 25GB+), but keep everything in common sense, i mean it makes not sense to download something that is 50GB and you only have 10GB buffer and a average up speed..

btw if you are into 50GB downloads, i recommend a seed box.

PS. i made potato angy because i was advertising my website in the bump thread.
and i do NOT know any place to get invites or have any invites.

and also don't try to be anti-american like me, cuse they are like vietnameese of the west, will fight till they are killed, i mean look at iraq.(i know this will do no good to my rep, but who cares?)

whoah haha that last part of your post about potato and the vietnameese was really random lol. So I'm guessing potato is a mod on here? Ok, I'll be sure to stay on his good side :D

I like the ideas about going into IRC, but how do you find out where to go for that? I don't use irc very much, I know limewire has a client, and i've used it to talk to fellow limewirers - is all i need that #nameofIRCroomhere thing?

and nope mish, sorry to say I play COD4 on PC, not PS3

Ghost, what is a buffer?
Oh and how do you make your own torrents? and is there a point? Say if I have a dvd of the movie Sahara right here, should I make a torrent of it, or should I just download a torrent of it and then upload that into my new private tracker??

SEE HOW NEW I AM! lol i feel like such a noob right now - so many questions :P

Yes and there are plenty of guides to read on all of those topics if you search the site with the search function.

I can give you immediate help here and now on this one;
Yes, Potato is a moderator here. A female moderator.

If you want to stay on her good side, watch the grammar, typos and invite begging / whoring (no one said you are, mind you)...

My mouse's pointer is on its way to the search field as we speak.

Why is it that people don't read at all before asking anything?

I don't know, maybe I just wanted to talk to a real person. If I just read all this info, what would I have to post in the forums about?? From what I've seen, most of this website's regulars spend their posts answering people's questions. I am correctable, however, so you are now free to set me straight :D

remember advise/opinions are like assholes everyone has one and they all stink! so sit down shut up and hang on your in for a wild ride. its good advise to read everything here and links too as ive got lots of good invites from zeropaid (shh dont tell anyone). there is a thread for open trackers. if your here just for invites you probably in the wrong place as there is so much more this is a community for like minded individuals.... i it aint free it aint for me taken to so many levels. as for creating your own torrents i recommend utorrent and read the help or tutorials on how too. welcome to zeropaid!

Why is it you even posted? Why not stay with your own like-minded, invite whoring, trading, scamming buddies at FST?

You know where that is, yes? Where everyone hates me? http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l153/shell63/girl_haha.gif

And why is it his question cannot bear asking? You were OK with answering this one (back before you pissed many mem...nm. Your rep speaks for your posts)-

Deep burner is great and it is free

and its not much different...

I appreciate your help mungopw, Elcomandante, and HelenaP. No, private trackers is not the sole reason I joined, though if they are better than public trackers of course I want to join one. I pretty much want to learn about torrents, and get some helpful overall computer advice. In fact, I'd appreciate it if you had any comment on my question found HERE (http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=49533)

I would greatly appreciate it. As for my two questions - the one about IRC and the other about making torrents, I already figured IRC out, all I need now is to figure out how to make a torrent - which I just did! Check THIS (http://www.utorrent.com/torrent.php) Link, its easier than I thought.

Thanks good info , only problem is that most websites have the signup page open but there is a limit in users , so after you fill out the registration it will just bounce you back and tell you that they are ful.

Didn't see any mention of this, so I better give you a heads up.

If you use Limewire for torrents, now is the time to change to a better client. Limewire, Frostwire and the likes are banned almost everywhere. I would recommend Azureus or uTorrent.

Oh and most private trackers have dedicated uploaders, so if you want to upload your own torrents, you will need to find one that allows users to upload. If you need someplace where you can do that, then PM me. But remember that users uploading has effect on speed.

Oh and thank you xtripit, I didn't know that. I use frostwire, but I just switched to utorrent, and its working out great so far.
