Hi Everyone:

I'm currently running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 big mistake I know and Im having major trouble finding a ip blocker that will work with it:

Peergaurdian 2 with its RC2 build is sposed to work with Vista once you disable the annoying digital driver signing bull but it really hit and miss sometimes it will and sometimes only the process appears in the Task Manager, so that ones out.

Protowall does not work with my versions of windows as a driver has not been developed as yet.

SafePeer and ipfilter.dat in Azeureus and utorrent, just seem to very haphazard in what they block if anything.

I know I could import the blocklist in to my firewall using BLM but that does appeal to me for some reason.

Is there another ip blocking software out there that is reliable with Vista that can do the same job as the aforementioned when used with BLM?

Thanks in advance.

I thought I would point out that being a Big black hole on some peoples Radar, gets them more interested in you :)

Sorry but thats just straight up wrong. If they can't connect to you, as far as they are concerned, you don't exist. Its not like you show up as a blank spot on their list, you simply don't show up on the list at all.

@devil81, this would only apply to utorrent at the moment, till pg gets their duckies in a row, but you ought to try ipfilterx to replace your normal ipblock.dat in utorrent.
Theres also a pg compatible blocklist from ipfilterx, but until pg releases a stable for vista64 it won't do you much good.

I have always believed otherwise based on how todays Technology works.

Not a point worth arguing I suppose.

No, not arguing at all. You've piqued my interest.
I don't pretend to know everything, maybe you know something I don't about this.
If theres some way of tracking you with out your ip being visible to them, I would sincerely appreciate knowing.

and mine. even if you're not connectible to the blocked ip, do you show up in the swarm? i suppose you do since you're connected to the tracker. the question is, can the swarm info be accessed outside the tracker? since you're in the know in these things carpe, i'd like to know your (or any other persons) take on this.

Hi All:

Thanks for all of the replies, I found a solution to the problem a Linux based torrent client ported over to Windows in which you could import blocklist. Its a great client but couldn't get on with kiddies placehouse big graphics so that was a goner.

Back to utorrent again with ipfilter.dat in conjunction with Blocklist manager, seems to be working again.

Thanks again
