Recently I managed to acquire 2 19" server racks (full towers...about 6 1/2 - 7 feet tall each) from my place of employment...seems they were destined for the garbage heap, and I felt it'd be a travesty to allow that to happen (no, I didn't do anything illegal to acquire them...my request went up to and was signed by the CFO of the company).
So the question arises: Now that I've got new room for servers (more than I know what to do with, currently) does anyone know of a good refurbished/used Intel/AMD server distributor that's reliable and doesn't ship DOA? I don't do business on ebay (ID theft scam a few years ago that ebay handled very poorly), so that's out of the question.
Primary use for these servers will be typical home stuff: storage, development, etc... though I do want a dedicated Sun Ray Server Software machine (Linux, not Solaris) so I can put a few SunRay 1's that I've got to good use. I'd also like to run IpCop on one of the machines (sandwiched between OpenBSD machines) for content filtering. I've found a nice Sun server reseller who deals in refurbished machines, but some of the stuff I want to do will require Intel/AMD processors, hence this thread.
