So the Wii version just came out, and I'm wondering what other people's thoughts are on it. I'm including a poll because polls are phun.
If you want, this thread can also be used to share friend codes. You all love friend codes, right?:icon_thum

Remember when the wii was the most retarded name ever? everybody knew the wii was a stupid name. It's funny how that whole controversy died...

Yea, because it's a fun console to play.
I know you hate it though, so I won't argue.

Whether the console is good or not has nothing to do with my statement.
as such, My statement had nothing to do with this thread

I voted for SNES version.
Simply I enjoy the tracks. Enjoy it so much there for awhile that I was falling a sleep at the wheel.

I voted for the n64. The snes is a classic, but it doesn't match up to how impressed and blown away me and my friends were by the n64 version.

I certainly remember the name controversy and I thought it was a joke when I first heard it admittedly.
I have only played the SNES and N64 version and I think the SNES edged out the 64 version by a tiny margine, but I really had to sit and think about that one. Interesting poll. :)

I play my Wii version with friends and online all the time. Loads of fun.
Although I must admit it makes me exceptionally angry sometimes to the point where I am screaming profanities at my television directed at other online players.
Do you guys use the wheel that comes with it? Me and my friend always argue whether its better to use it or not. He thinks not. And I'm totally used to it and can't play without the controller insterted in the wheel.

My friend prefers using the wii remote and the nunchuck over the wheel. He says the gamecube controller works well for those damn bikes on 100cc.
I haven't tested this theory.

I haven't tried it with the nunchuck/wii remote. I'll give it a go tho. I like the wheel tho :)
Gonna buy a few games soon, those being Super Smash Bros. and Okami, and they better be pimpingly good.

Played both Okami and SSB. SSB has a replay value that will probably last until the next gen version of Smash Bros comes out. Okami is fun; and the animations are vibrant and beautiful, but they also become repetitious.

Yeah, I'm definately going to get SSB, online play is going to be awesome...

dont get too hyped up about online in SSBB. its very laggy and frequently unplayable. i think its due to so many others playing online still.
as for mario kart, i think i love the wheel and hate the game. i dont hate it as much as double dash, but with the massive lack of multiplayer options, i dont see much point in playing this game beyond single player.

I really enjoy Mario Kart Online. I agree Nintendo's online system as a whole needs improving, and a few more options within Mario Kart Online would be well received. But I reckon when it comes down to it it offers a decent online racing experience... I enjoy it with a few friends and beers at any rate :)

All wii games are laggy on line. i think its more of crappy wireless card than amount of people playing.

All online games are laggy at one time or another. YOu get some lame-o with a 56k connection freakin everyone up or maybe the FREE servers are over loaded. Its free, nuff said but it could be just you. Can you see your ping from the server?

i doubt that the Wii has anything less than what the DS has, wireless wise, and ive had some very lag-free games on the DS
and mels, you are lucky if you even get to see the names of your opponents on nintendo's service.

Ive read where some people are bitchin about the battle mode in the new cart (how its been changed, not online playwise). I never played the battle mode much anyways.

I voted for mario kart SNES because back when I was younger, we used to play it and it was so fun. Years later I seen the n64 version and didn't like it so much, but it was also fun too.

as far as im concerned, the MKDS was mario kart perfection. it was challenging without being retarded, or random. the carts handled well, and it was the first game with online abilities. battle mode was still fun too. all-in-all, i cant think of a better time playing mario kart than the DS. snes included.

Maybe but shit spray day is every day at ZP! If it wasn't for the daily invasion of the turd bots ZP's traffic would be next to nil.

Wii verison is refreshing, just wish you could jump over the turtles like in SNES. Wii could use some refinement but it's still very much enjoyable.
For online play, i've noticed that it's a hit or miss with lag. I have played with 12 players with 0 lag (regional and worldwide) then I get some games where the graphics are reduced (I guess to reduce the lag time) and it seems like it's missing a few FPS.
I think it was worth the money though.

I voted for the N64 version, mainly because I've never owned any of the other platforms in the poll.
