When I play FLV files in VLC player and fast forward, the player stops. The video image disapears. When I play the FLV files with a FLV player, it works and fast forwards fine.

I want to put the files on a data CD. Should I convert the FLV files to something else? Do you think the files will work. or do you think I should put the FLV files on the CD? I will probably forget to use the FLV player and think something is wrong with the CD and throw it out.

Is there a way to fix the FLV files?

Thanks in advance.

you could convert them to other formats with SUPER©
or try upgrading vlc to v0.8.6e if you haven't already

VLC just simply doesn't handle flash (.FLV) files all that well. Any FLV file will function that way in VLC. If you want another good universal player that lets you play FLV and skip forward try KMplayer. Anyway theres no harm in converting your files, its just kind of a pain in the ass.
