Saw bit of the news on TV today, and walk in when there were showing this piece of news and was amazed.

Especially when a guy gave the robotic dog a flat foot push and it balanced itself like a newborn foal but not falling over.

The Most Advanced Quadruped Robot on Earth

BigDog is the alpha male of the Boston Dynamics family of robots. It is a quadruped robot that walks, runs, and climbs on rough terrain and carries heavy loads. BigDog is powered by a gasoline engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. BigDog's legs are articulated like an animal’s, and have compliant elements that absorb shock and recycle energy from one step to the next. BigDog is the size of a large dog or small mule, measuring 1 meter long, 0.7 meters tall and 75 kg weight.
BigDog has an on-board computer that controls locomotion, servos the legs and handles a wide variety of sensors...........

Leave it all to DARPA.

Sounds cool, but the design could be...better. It has the grill of a Mack truck.

Eish.... we sure know how to waste money on this planet huh?

Its a cool toy though, it will be able to carry a barrel of rum to a freezing soldier in Iraq, thus rendering the tremendously expensive domestic canine entirely obsolete! WOW!

Yeah you think with the zillion of dollars spent the look of the dog should be a1.

Maybe a paper mache for a head and tail. Simple enough.

f**kin' oath. Don't know whether you saw the video clip, the sound of the dog needs better muffler system. Maybe put a hotdog on for a meaner growl. lol.

Personally, I don't want to hear that six in the morning.
