Seriously I can't tell you how much I miss the demon.... Sceners are all about rep, and only release the latest and greatest stuff, that millions of people want. The average joe uploaded stuff to demonoid to share and improve ratios, and there was only one thing in 4 years that I couldn't find on demonoid: an obscure italian film, made in 1971! I had to go to karragara to get that!

And now months after demonoid has gone down I find some obscure torrrents, like 'the manual of publishing of the american psychological society' on docs.torrents.ro, and there is a little txt file attached, and you know what it says!!! I had to start a thread here to find docs.torrents, but if I had had demonoid, I would have found the torrent as fast as I could type....

I don't know why everyone bashes demonoid just because they aren't scene and they aren't private. Demonoid's absence left a massive void in my internet usage, and for that reason yes,

IT IS THAT EXCITING!!!!!!
LOL

Ahem...
Have you not taken the course that investigates the use of the word "everyone" (as well as "always", "never" and "ever")?

Well, I'm happy for you... As far as why people bash Demonoid, I think you will learn the answer by doing a little searching ... here's a guy who sums up my thoughts on the matter. It has nothing to do with public/private.

I agree. It had all those "hard to find" items that nobody else would ever have. AND IT WOULD HAVE SEEDS!!!!!

Why would I search for reason to bash a tracker I love, have used for 3+ years and have never had a problem with? Hey man where there is a will there is a way, many Canadian users used demonoid behind proxies etc. Instead of blaming demonoid you should be blaming CRIA. They are responsible for you not accessing demonoid. Demonoid started out as a forum much like ZP, and got way out of hand for deimos the site owner. He is not out to fuck everybody off like TPB, and make statements on behalf of the piracy 'movement'. The dude has his own life that doesn't involve all this shit. Why do you think he refused TPB's offer to give demonoid two swedish servers? He just wants to move the site somewhere where no-one gives a fuck about what the site is doing, and let the mods run it, while he probably makes a killing off of donations.

Nothing wrong with that as long as I get my motherfucking rare torrents.

That is all

i skimmed that article. i was under the impression that demonoid's ISP is the one that caved, not demonoid themselves.

Argue all you want..it doesn't matter..I like Demonoid & will be glad to have them back...
there is no sense really to bash the site, don't like it..don't visit..simple as that.

My understanding is that their owner shut out Canadian users and then lied to his site community and told them he had "hardware" problems" with the site. He latter claimed to have received some sort of letter from the CRIA. Requests to make the letter public were ignored. The site eventually shut down and he's been going from country to country like a bittorrent refugee. That, I think, is the jist of it.

I could care less... demonoid was always an overhyped tracker IMCO. I suppose if you want to pick up season one of Magnum PI you could always go there...

Well your signature states otherwise. Frankly demonoid was a great tracker with lots of rare shit. If you don't like audiobooks, audiodrama, handcrafted releases, documentaries, etc, then you will never understand.
What this place has become...
