I need to know, next to Window's Media Player, what is the best one for playing MPGs, AVIs, MPEGs, DVDs..etc?
Windows Media Player 9 always closes when I try to play something.I'd uninstall it but there's no button. if you could tell me HOW to uninstall it, that'd be fine too :)
Thanks

windows media player 9 can only be uninstalled using system restore (assuming you are using windows xp) and if you want WMP 6.4, it comes with all later versions of the WMP...just go to start, run, and type mplayer2 and you're good to go.

the only way to remove WMP 9 is to do a system restore at a point before you install. no other way. i use powerdvd to play my DVD's. And for once I will agree with Dealie, and say to get WMP 6.4 to use for the rest. i like to support and options of PowerDVD better for DVD's, but WMP6.4 rocks for everything else. but if you dont like microsoft you can use Global DivX. That program works great also. but make sure you get the codecs or you wont be able to see any video on some movies.
Global DivX (http://www.divxity.com/)
WMP 6.4 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp)
search on google for the codecs unless someone else knows the links. and if you want a "special" copy of PowerDVD XP, PM me and i will hook you up.
